Besides some form of AR.
It eats away shields just as fast as an ASR can, and does more against armor.
The TAC AR is pretty much the holy grail of all infantry weapons. Has no drawbacks, works as good in CQC as it does at longer ranges, and shoots farther than a normal SR and an LR (and also doesnt over heat).
The normal SR is only good for "wtf pwn" attacks on one person. You cant reliably kill more than one person with it without overheating and damaging yourself. But with an AR its very possible.

If you use Amarr weapons, apply Amarr combat doctrine.
The Gallente combat doctrine of "Go somewhere and shoot stuff" is surely easier to implement, but that doesn't mean it's more effective. |

i agree totally, SR has no purpose really when you compare it to a Tac AR that is beter in just about every way, all i can say is SR have beter ammo efficiency... big woop nano hives are everywhere, and ARs arent to heavy in PG or Cpu |

I totally agree. They are really unbalanced at the moment. It's a shame to play a futuristic scifi space shooter and see 90% of the population using the same old boaring AR style weapon that every other shooter on the market has. |

The Tac. AR is OP. I use it myself constantly killing mercs without trouble. It needs a small nerf in ROF. |

-1 for using the SCR the same was as a TAR.
SCR charged shot is amazing. It is the reason it has a role on the battle field. There are plenty of good opportunities to make use of it. No, the SCR probably isnt the weapon of choice on a heads up 1on1 fight. But in group fights, where even popping out for more than a second can get you mowed down, its ability to charge damage safely behind cover and pop out for a tiny moment to fire is awesome. It is also awesome to use when flanking folks.
Scouts rely on front loaded damage to survive, and the SCR provides that. |

Troll or not, the OP is correct. Outside of spike damage based weapons like the shotgun the AR has a higher DPS compared to everything to the point that other weapons are pure novelty. Especially if you're good with the TAR. |

Breach Shotguns suck (unless they got a ninja range buff while I wasn't looking.
The others have been nerfed into balance. If you're good with them, they're amazing. If not, you get killed trying. |
