Thank you for making it objective. CCP deserves a review that isn't suffocated by bias. I mean seriously, the game's been 'launched' for two days. Give it a few weeks before absolutely tearing it apart. The age of instant gratification, gentlemen. We take so much information in that we assume we must put out as well, and it leads to a neverending cycle of the latest updates, where news is of the present, live, and what existed a few weeks ago is 'old'.

Well in the OP's defence, he could argue that he did specify in the title it was a review of the launch, not the game itself. ;) |

Poor excuse....
- A review is an evaluation of a publication, product, service, or company such as a movie (a movie review), video game, musical composition. In addition to a critical evaluation, the review's author may assign the work a rating to indicate its relative merit. More loosely, an author may review current events, trends, or items in the news.
- Revision is the process of revising. More specifically, it may refer to: Update, a modification of software or a database. |

Wow.
Are the Fanboys now lowering themselves to the point of scouring the dregs of the internet in hopes of finding any scrub-site who won't give Dust 514 a much deserved average review? Since the big boys at sites like Joystiq are giving the game a merely lukewarm reception, you have to hunt down any twerp who will say glowingly pretty things about Dust to give your life meaning?
Sad guys.
Dust isn't horrible, but it isn't the next Goldeneye, Mario 64, Halo, Dark Souls or even Planetside 2 either. As a FTP game on a console it may be tops, but you do have to keep that in persepective. |

Biguss - most of the critics are practically debasing themselves to find a bad review of the game. They point to joystiq's one, and there are some massive flaws in that review. They also point to IGN's ongoing one and claim "oh, crisis" when he hasn't concluded anything.
They point to metacritic, where the score hasn't dropped below 7 yet. Even so, on metacritic, Skyrim has a 5.8 on PS3. Understandable considering the bugs on that console, but not understandable under current circumstances. Also looking at metacritic, there was another game (can't remember which one, it'll come to me) where the reviewers rated it 85/100, and the users rated it a 3/10.
There are no conclusive reviews out there as of yet. None being particularly damning or praising. Joystiq's one has some flaws, as pointed out (plays EVE but complains the skill system is complicated? Come on). |

(To clarify: I'm not referring to the OP, but to those who attack the launch day reviews of this game and flame those who post links to such reviews, while blindly white knighting CCP.)
Actually ... i can't find any "relevant" reviews yet. Serious reviewers, that consider their self "professionals", plays the game for longer than 5 minutes, before they start typing, fundamentally nonsense BS.

Why? To be honest, it was WAY to early to launch the game. There have been major changes from chromosome to uprising, with nearly no interaction between community and CCP. Dust could have gone a totally other way if CCP just would have tried to get in contact with all of us Beta "Testers" (lol).
Right now CCP earns what it deserves. For sure Dust is a game which will evolve over alot of time, but you can be much more efficent working WITH not AGAINST you playerbase.
Looking at the title of threads in this forum is NOT what I mean with a nice feedback, I'm talking about getting in contact with some players. If you want an opinion to the AR ask a AR user, don't try to figure out whats going on via all this nerf this nerf that posts on the forums. If you want to go this way you will get into exactly the same position CCP is in right now:
-A lot of changes every build with always much more errors and bugs than the build before -A launched game which is, to be honest, atleast 2 months of intensive dev-work away from launching -A mad community -Spammed forums -Bad Reviews -Rushing hotfixes
If you guys were looking for this, GZ you just got rewarded.
Sorry but no tears for CCP on this!
