I'm now on day two of this error message.
I have a brand new PS3. I have tried wired and wireless connections. I have cleared the Saved Game Data Utility cache. I have deleted and reinstalled the game. I have started the PS3 is Safe Mode and restored the file system. None of it helped. I tried just sticking with it and press "X" to "please try again." So I kept trying again. And again. For up to an hour and a half at a time I would press "X" over and over and over. I would get frustrated and stop, and come back in a few hours to try again. Nothing.
I sent in a petition to Dust support, and they told me to do all of the above. I told them that I had done all of this, and they haven't responded since. -.-
Previous to this most recent patch, I was logging in just fine. The problem started with Tuesdays patch. I cannot get past the sync screen to even start downloading the new patch. I am starting to get frustrated, but not mad. I really like this game. I just want to be able to log in and play! |

My situation is IDENTICAL to yours, I even created a post in this forum last night saying the same thing. I've tried everything you've tried except for putting my PS3 in Safe mode, which I don't know how to do. I have, however, reformatted my PS3, and have also deleted and redownloaded and installed the game roughly ten times now. I've sent them a help ticket with no response. As frustrating as this is, at least we know we're not the only people on the planet with this problem. I just have no idea how it's going to get fixed or who's going to do the fixing. Hopefully it's on their end, because I've done all I can think of. |

New help ticket response:
We have reports that there may be issues with some routers that may cause this problem. If you are connecting your PS3 via Wireless through the router, then we would ask you to connect the Playstation with LAN cable to the router. After doing so, please attempt to load into DUST 514.
If this solution does not fix your connection problem, then the issue could be that your router does not have the appropriate ports open to play DUST 514. Please also check the following topic in DUST 514 forum below to find out more about the port. Port forum : https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=27899&find=unread
You may also want to check out Sony's connection troubleshooting page found here: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html
Finally, if you have unnecessary game cache, please follow the instruction below to clear them. 1. From the PS XMB menu, please go to GÇ£GameGÇ¥ > GÇ£Saved Data Utility (PS3tm) 2. Then select the game and press triangle (option) and choose delete to clear the game cache.
DUST 514 server is down everyday between 11:00 and 11:30 for maintenance. Server is now accepting a connection, please try to connect to the game again. |

I have disabled my router's firewall completely, since it did not allow me to open specific ports and setting up a "DMZ" for my PS3 didn't work either.
It did the trick, and everything finally appears to be working. I just don't know if disabling my firewall is a good idea.. |

Mine started working yesterday, even though I did nothing new after posting the above. I just tried one more time before heading to bed and suddenly the game was patching for me. vOv |
