I have been playing with the standard Scrambler Rifle right now, but I want to give the assault variant a shot.

Anyone who has used it, what is it like?

Sucks. Most people will run for cover once shields are down. A pain to bring armor to 0. You'll also have to be at very close range (closer than AR lmao) for it to be effective. Having an SMG or Flaylock is useful for eating armor. Also I feel it has low damage overall so damage mods should help.

It is a beast and don't even want the sights touched.

 Basically, automatic scrambler pistol.

Vs. TacAR at range, difficult but not unachievable kill. Just make sure your within range and near cover. CQC on the other hand, destroys a TacAR user.

Against Caldari suits, or anything else that the target has shield-tanked (except vehicles... obviously), they're nasty.

Against Gallente and other armour tanks, not quite so much.

Adding a damage mod should also help bring armor down faster.

Oh, and fire in short controlled bursts when firing at mid range, you will see that you do more damage that way.

For those that say it sucks, it is the most balanced gun in the game for what it's meant to do. L2A...

ATM there's absolutely no reason to choose the SR over the AR.

Tried it, I like it; more damage than GEK, bigger magazine. The only downside is the range (minor issue) and the threat of overheating (manageable). The sound is pretty terrible thought, sounds like hitting a hollow wooden tube.

 It's a playstyle choice.
The AR will out performance the SR with less effort.

But I like the SRs and I'm practicing with mine.

Assault Scram Rifle is boss. Damage mods make it a beast.

Like fine wine and cheese, it's best paired with a leveled up(Advanced/Prototype) Flaylock. Caldari? Gallente? It's take on all comers with an Assault Scram and Flaylock.

The best part of the Assault Scrambler is the overheat. I know, crazy right? But think - how many derp-y noobs have you seen running around simply spraying their GEKs like mad? Spray & pray = Fail. With the overheat, you quickly learn to burst your fire, which (i've found) results in more hits - especially against moving targets, where you need to pop in and out of ADS(due to the current poor tracking).

Finally, like fine wine and cheese, it's best paired with a leveled up(Advanced/Prototype) Flaylock. Caldari? Gallente? It's take on all comers with an Assault Scram and Flaylock.

I have got quite a few assists from people overheat killing themselves trying to take out my armour reserve lol its always hilarious.

So in other words, working as intended.

The first time I heard an assault variant being fired, all I could think was "wtf was that!?!" Sounded like one of the guns ran through the Pack-a-Punch machine in National Sozialistische Deutsch Arbeiter-Partei Zombies.

Interesting to note that the SR is almost the opposite of the AR in form. The AR is mostly a spray weapon, with a special semi-auto precision variant. The SR is mostly a semi-auto precision weapon, with a variant that is spray.

Edit: Lol @ what I had to change not to have it read "**** Zombies."
