Allow the pilot to aim the forward turret independently of the ships orientation, kind of like how apache pilots do. Seriously we're centuries in the future and we have to maneuver the entire ship to aim like a world war 1 biplane? That ***** whack. Am I right pilots? |

Never flown a dropship at all but really i thought pilots where able to do this !!! Come on now i can understand why the ADS sucks a lot ( and not just sucks like the normal dropships do) But ok dude any ideas how to fix this ?? My idea is that like on a tank you have 2 different view modes. A kind of first person view from the gun where you can't see the tank itself, and a 3 person view mode.
Why not give dropships this as well where the third person view will just be exactly how it is right now. It'll be for easy spoitting around / narrow flying or what you'll call it. The first person view will then give you a view from your gun and a crosshair. Turning this around will only turn the gun and turning the gun a certain degree to the left or right will the begin to turn the entire dropship. ( going back to third person view will reset the gun angle to look straight forward again ) Together with this also add (just like with tanks ) a little picture or two in the bottom left / right showing how your turret is aligned with the dropship aka how much is it turning right / left and up / down right now. This way bad ADS pilots will differ from good ADS pilots as the good ones will have that feeling of how big their ship is and not jsut bang into stuff while being in the first person view mode. (And again no dropship pilot so no idea if this would be good) |

Unfortunately, there isn't a third analogue stick on a PS3 controller to control the aim of a turret. The other two sticks are used exclusively to control movement. A better way would be to make an ADS have four different positions. One pilot, two on the side guns, and one on the front gun.
Sure, it leaves pilots unable to actually kill things, but it also frees them up to be able to concentrate on flying, rather than both flying and killing.
I know I sometimes get too caught up in any game to keep an eye on my health/shields/whatever, and so die when I should have run away. As DS's are too fragile in the current state, perhaps this should be considered, allow the pilot to concentrate on flying and keeping the DS alive, whereas the gunners can concentrate on killing. |

I know. Don't raise their HP like every other vehicle. Nerf their HP in the skills. And nerf the skills for small turret damage from +2% to +1% !

when they announced assault dropships i pictured 2 large missile turrets on the sides of my dropship, then we get a turret u can only use if u fly straight at the ground and struggles to kill scouts when we get jets u will know what a Draxus Prime ordered no fly zone is muahahaha |

Indeed. About 40 swarms chasing a jet piloted by someone called Draxus Prime, who was told not to fly so close to the ground. |

Yeah ok though i think a lot of ADS pilots would be sad as i see the good side about a ADS is that you'r not having a waste in guy flying about doing pretty much nothing when he's not needed. The ADS can always be needed to either fly people around or shoot when they then get there. I'm guessing the left analog stick is used to flying forward, backwards etc and right analog is used to turn the alignment of the dropship ?? (Never flown one but doing my best to understand ) If this is true this is where i'll point you to: Den-tredje Baron wrote:The first person view will then give you a view from your gun and a crosshair. Turning this around will only turn the gun and turning the gun a certain degree to the left or right (edit: or up and down as this will then at a certain degree begin to tilt the dropship upwards or downwards ) will it begin to turn the entire dropship. ( going back to third person view will reset the gun angle to look straight forward again ) This way you'll still be able to change the entire dropships alignment but also control the gun somewhat independently from the ship. When it comes to the run away point same thing happens to tanks. Get to caught up in trying to shoot this assault jumping around and you won't notice the heavy throwing AV and charging up his FG |
