The term "Blue Doughnut" with regard to PC, I believe, denotes the military/political status of a system that has become somewhat stable, static or unchanging because of a predominance of allies and non-aggression pacts amongst the participants.
There has been much consternation around the CRU about whether DUST planetary conquest will devolve into a great blue doughnut of allied corps that hold vast amounts of district space, garnish much resources and wealth and ensure thier own stability through mutual non-aggressive behavior.
In the interest of promoting Darwin's eon spanning law, Evolution through survival of the fittest, I would like to offer a proposal of how the greater dust community can Dunk the Doughnut, as it were.
Watch, wait and see. As PC matures, a doughnut, blue as balls, may emerge. If it does, let us evaluate the confection closely and determine the softest part (least well defended districts) between the two strongest alliances that have a NAP.
After we know where the soft part lies we will openly post and discuss it on the forums. This kind of activity stirs irritation and preparation between NAPping blues. Then, multiple random corps not involved in PC or District management & control can buy clone packs and attack the soft areas.
After just a few bites of soft dunked doughnut, the previously bedded blue buddies will be itching to shore up damage and destabilization of the great glazed construct will commence.
We don't have to eat the whole doughnut. We don't even have to take and hold doughnut related crumbs. We just have to bite and nibble enough to weaken the whole.
It'll be fun. |

There will always be "bad eggs" that want to raid the donut for crumbs. It is true there are huge areas of eve held in stasis by non-aggressive pacts. However there are always raid fleets and camps on the go. Nobody is safe. The only difference is that eves terrible sov system means that losses and raiding entities are little more than a nights entertainment, not a serious threat. |

The Imps are doughnut eaters like the rest of the blue ballers. They may try to set themselves apart by only claiming a couple of districts but as long as they hold land they will be preoccupied by maintaining thier status qou.
