Most successful corps have come out of people who already group up and enjoy playing together - so why then do you see so many people asking why no one joins their one man corp? Why would anyone think that just creating a corp on your own will mean people will join you?
Please, for your own good people, think it through. Why should people join your corp? What do you have to offer if you're just one person? Corps are a community - not just a person. Make some friends by squading and chatting with randoms and then when you've got a stable group, you might be in a good position to start a corp.
TL:DR - just because you make a corp, it doesn't mean people will join. Stop crying because no one will join you. |

Its just like the real world. Why should anyone open a store when Walmart has everything and better prices? People still open stores and people are still going to start crappy little corps. Its what makes the world go round. |

But 1 man corps will get nowhere. You can't bring people into your group, if you don't have a 'group'. |

I dunno, if I found someone good going it alone and we had teamwork together and talked during a match. After awhile if I didn't have a corp then I might be interested in joining. Playing with 1 other person is better then sitting around playing with yourself. And it just starts from there. |

I created a Corp.
Been attempting to recruit people ever since it's creation, but I don't argue the point as to 'why people don't join my corp," rather I have the outlook that people will join when and if they want to join.
Why create the Corp? Well, I was part of Closed Beta Corp, I was dedicated to my corp and I promoted with a zealous conviction; I am certain that if any from Closed Beta could/would remember me, they would recall how I was actively participating in spreading the word about the Corp here on the forums as well as in-game. One day logged into DUST 514 and the Corp was gone. I never truly learned what had happened, but rumors persisted that the leader just jacked everyone's donated ISK and made his way to another corp.
Why? because I don't want to go through that experience again. Because, I want to give dedicated players a group that they can grow in, a place where they can get caught up in the spirit of camaraderie and experience DUST 514 to it's fullest never being scared by drama and issues, and reward for those naive players who are passionate and dedicated to the corp for their effort, rather than just pulling the rug right from underneath their feet.
TL:DR: Don't be a hater to the new CORPs -we got reasons for being here.

I wish I could merge my small (all friends) corp with someone without losing my CORP leader status for only my corp. |

I agree with the 1 man corp being strange; but a lot of people have a small group of friends that they play all types of games together and want to group up without having to be thrown into a large corp where they don't know the rest of the people. Some players are good meeting others and want to be a part of something bigger, most there are a lot that don't care about that and just like having fun with their same group of buddies and that's it.
As far as 1 man corps... I have no idea what their "CEO" is thinking. |

Let me just make this perfectly clear - small corps are fine and I have no problem with people trying to make a new corp but I really can't understand why people would try to start a community before they have any one to group with already. A community starts with several people, not just one person standing in a field shouting 'I want to make a community!'. |

World of Warcraft turned into constant "hay guys I'm only eight years old mentally please join my guild" shortly before I quit that game and yeah I didn't last long..
It's a mental thing. See "youtubers" begging for subscriptions and likes, see people going into debt just to have their name even mentioned at small charity events on the internet.
Meanwhile the rest of us feel old and make silly corps for our alts. |

This sounds like a problem that came over from COD. Those fan-boys gave Dust its COD herpes, however, I believe that remission is in progress with the implementation of PC. I do expect to see an exacerbation in about 3-4 week from now. that stuff just don't go away, its forever!!! |
