So in my subjective, personal opinion, theres LOADS of problems with this game, and if it wasn't for the private beta AUR equipment being dirt cheap compared to the current AUR equipment, I could not have spent a cent on this game, and the only thing keeping me coming back is the fact thats its free.
So my subjective problems with this game.
Vehicle controls
Jesus H Christ, I cannot drive a buggy for ****. Not because of the lag, not because I can't judge turns, but purely because turn AND accelerate is on the same god damn stick. Please fix this ad at least put turning and acceleration on different sticks, or by like other games and people actually play, and use an acceleration button.
Graphical fidelity
This is low on my list of issues, but should still be stated as compared to other games such as Borderlands where they have a specific style, so their low graphical fidelity (if you get rid of the cell shading) is ok, and games like Battlefield where their engine, poly count, and textures try to achieve photo realism and achieve it to a pretty good standard given what they have to work off, this game is no where near the quality of most AAA games in the graphical department. Although compared to the other issues woth the game, this should probably not be thought about too much.
Lack of variety
Theres some variety in the sense that the environments looks different, but at the core, objects and the map are the exact same. Putting a new coat on the map doesn't make it a new one. I thought the game's maps where meant to be procedural generated and that there were meant to be thousands of planets. To me, it just seems like I'm playing on different versions of future earth.
And now for some technical flaws that people should universally agree, should need fixing.
Lag
OH boy is this a bugger. The amount of times I have popped round a corner, saw bullets flying, popped back, and then to die is is a staggeringly large amount, along with times I threw a grenade, only for it to leave my hand a full two seconds later, and by that time, the person has mowed me down. I would like to see some debugging info to determine if my shooting is really that **** or if there's lag behind it.such as ping? I wouldn't mind as much if knew my connection was **** if I kept on getting slaughtered.
Constant losing
I would of said this was just me being crap at the game, and that its subjective, but the fact that almost all games I lose, and that when ever I check the scoreboard after a loss it seems like my entire team was getting a K/D of 2/19 or, 0/15, while the enemy team was getting 18/1 or 6/1. While these specific numbers are probably wrong, the fact that most games where there's a loss, it seems like the losing team ALWAYS gets steamrolled. Its a rarity that a team loses legitimately or at least doesn't get steamrolled. Even when I'm the winner (which is hardly ever due to the losing team leaving more than the winning, meaning joining players are more likely to join in a losing team's place than winning's), it seems like my team is steam rolling the other. I put this down to lag, so fix that, and you kill two birds with one stone.
I consider the objective issues to be much larger than the subjective ones. Take this how you will, but be assured that these are real issues. The only keeping me interested in the game is the possibility of a horde mode which might not have as much lag, and might not mean I get steamrolled, but even then, it doesn't seem likely, with today being the "release date", and I have yet to see any changes from open beta to full game. |
