According to my calculations, without factoring boosters, if you were to reach cap every week for 12 months (with the addition of passive SP), you would get 17,212,800 SP for one year. |

If correct, this adds up to about over 5 years to master every class in DUST514. |

CCP Wolfman hinted a while back we were supposed to get something that starts with a "W" and I'm pretty sure it wasn't weapon balance, we got a while to go on that one. |

17 million sp is only enough to max 4 suits with no support skills or weapons to speak of of, or HAV or dropship or LAV skills.
There are 24 suits when all races are in, that's 6 years just for the dropsuit section of the skill tree |

Still way to damned long, shouldn't CCP save stupidly high skill grinds. We are not even counting things not in the game yet. |

52 weeks in a year. 24k a day Passive. 168k a Week. 8,736,000 a year Passively. 190,400 a Week from Active Sources. 9,900,800 a year Actively. Total of: 18,636,800
So it is about 18.6ish Million a y131ear, depending how you calculate it, as 365 days doesn't divide completely evenly into Months or Weeks.
Boosters change it to: Passive Year: 13,104,000 Active Year: 14,851,200 Total with both: 27,955,200
You can't look it at as a total lump sum. You will go insane. Anything that you look at as a lump sum will drive you insane. |

And last I counted, unless the list I was going off of had a lot of duplicates, it's close to 12.5 years worth of available skills without boosters, not 5. |

And to note: many skills are nearly worthless to max. Why does an Assault Rifle need 15% reloading when it amounts to an imperceptible amount of time for 1,865,520 or increases ammo capacity when you are probably dead before you are empty or have a Nanohive? There are plenty of skills that are pointless unless you want to be ultra specific. For the average person, you can cut down on the chaff a whole bunch. |

They stated a goal of seven years Before Uprising. I have not bothered to total up Uprising's massively larger totals.
As stated above a significant number of higher levels are useless. If you aren't specializing in something you are wasting SP. As it is too expensive to get wasting it cuts twice. Higher levels all take months even with boosters so the game is not winnable in any fashion now. I don't know if it ever was realistically. Before Uprising it didn't matter that much because it was fun.
The current calculation regarding EVE is ~19 years and the game is just now at 10. The fact is you will never max out DUST because they don't want you to. As you get close new Skills, equipment, weapons, vehicles and who know what will be added.
@Ryanki, losing hope in DUST is silly. Why would you even have any? |

You will do better in this game (and in life) if you do not discount small percentage gains and instead view them as marginal increases on preformance. They add up. And multiply too. Think compound interest. |

15% of 3 seconds is 450 milliseconds. A blink is between 300-400 milliseconds. It really cannot be perceived once the lag time between player and client is considered. I honestly have no idea why they decided to make it a X6 skill now... |

Seems about right, my oldest EVE character is at about 45 million skillpoints and he's been active for 2.5 years.
Although in that time I've managed to level 5 most of the core skills, level 5 of every racial frigate, cruisers and battlecruisers, plus a majority of their tech 2 counterparts plus the weapon systems of every race.
So yeah, maybe the DUST skill multipliers are just a little too high considering all of the near future content we've yet to receive (fighters, other racial weapons and suits, MAVs, MTACs, speeders etc). |
