If you take a Basic Medium Frame (Caldari in this example because Joseph loves Heth: Money > Freedom!), you can place Basic AR, Shield Extenders x 2, Scrambler/Submachine gun, Locus Grenade, Nanohive, and either Plates or Regulators x 2 (they both have the same cost). That only the skills necessary to wear the gear; some of it even could be Militia.
Militia Frame (Caldari again) can fit all Militia again except for the Sidearm, so either trade some Militia for basic or go without. If you look at an Advanced Caldari Suit with advanced gear (Shield Extenders 3, AR, Nanohive, Regulators, and Locus Grenades), they can fit everything with Circuitry maxed and at least one point in Light Weapon Operation (the one that reduces CP by 3% per level).
For Dropsuits, it seems to be planned as GÇ£Militia can wear mostly Militia and Standard can wear all Standard with some Militia if requested with no bonus CPU or PG. Advanced with Advanced requires SP into PG and CPU skills.GÇ¥ But for Tanks, this simply is not the case.
The Gunnlogi has 330 CPU and 1805 PG. What can we all agree that a Tank needs? Flat Health, a way of regaining that health, and turrets. Most Tanks will build to that unless they are fulfilling a completely different role. LetGÇÖs see:
Large Shield Extender: 75 CPU and 680 PG Large Shield Booster: 80 CPU and 640 PG Large Missiles Turret (since it is the lowest PG): 800
Right there, it canGÇÖt be made. 2,120 PG out of 1,805 PG. In order to use it, PG modules have to be used. 2 Basic PG modules increase the PG by 18.691% resulting in 2,142 PG. It barely fits.
For Armor Tanks, it is the same thing but worse. Madrugars have 2,690 PG. Here are the dumps:
Repairer: 1,120 180mm Plate: 1,160
That leaves 410 PG. Even the Large Missile Turrett uses nearly twice as much PG as what is left. Adding all supplemental modules, modules that give far less bonuses but requires less PG/CPU, ends up leaving the tank with 866. That lets you fit the Large Turret, but the other two Turrets are still empty meaning that the fit is not complete yet. Each small Missile Turret is another 70 PG, meaning it simply does not work. So either the Tank can throw in LAV modules or they can throw in PG modules, both of which cripple them.
Also, Dropsuits are plenty capable of using advanced weaponry with the right skills. I really don't think that is going to happen with Tanks...
Why, Combat Engineering, why did you leave us? Sure we would have been forced to throw many a-points at you but at least you made sure the dog didn't pee on the carpet.
Be well.

As much as I didn't like what they did with the PG, it does force you to choose what you want to do.
You can no longer have a massive amount of HP if you want to wreck things with the proto weapons, or you can use the weak stuff and run the best weapons, making it more balanced I guess. With the HP Buff coming and Blam working on PG we should see higher survivability, making for longer, more strategical fights. We just have to wait. |
