Hey guys
First time writing in a forum so bear with me. When I first downloaded D514 graphics were good but after UPRISING they went bad. Like Nintendo 64 bad! I love the game and I think the Devs are doing an awesome job but please help me fix this or help me find a way to get it at least back to how it use to be.
Many thanks in advance guys and I look forward to hearing from you guys soon. |

Graphics were good before Uprising? Maybe you were playing too much retro games, haha. But I can see this is a glitch and I am pretty sure some of the others might have similar problems as yours. It is still in BETA, I believe. Graphics looks GREAT right now for Dust 514, so hopefully they'll fix it for you so you'll get blown away with it! |

You are the Only player that I have heard of with that opinion.
There are several that use Plasma Screen TVs that had problems. I don't recall if it was better or worse after Uprising. I play on a LED HD monitor and the improvements put DUST much closer to modern games.
As previously requested screen shots, pictures or even some detail as to what the problem is would help somebody trying to respond to you. |

If I had to describe it there is a lot of lines when it comes to the far away mountains. The terrain and explosives show a lot of small squares (terrible resolution?) it's difficult to spot players on the hills and mountains when I'm sniping or on my gunloggi. It's pretty frustrating as you can see not to be able to see other players. Not to mention down right disappointed when an explosion is visualized in hundreds of squares.
Hope this helps you help me thanks again for all the responses. |

I have never seen a square artifact in DUST. Either before or after Uprising.
Hopefully some traffic here will allow someone to tell you how to post a picture. I have never done it personally and the only ones I recall are either YouTube links or some web based picture sharing method. Both of those resolve to URLs and those are easily handled by the Forum software.
Some more date would help as well.
What is your display solution: TV, monitor, HD TV, HDMI connection, Sony weird wire connection to non-HDMI.
From the PS3 what are your display options set to? My system is not on currently but my system has a list of 480i, 720p, 1080p and such that have check boxes to enable each. |

I've had the exact same. I finally got round to downloading this a few days ago. I currently play EVE which perked my interest in this a little more.
Anyways when I fired it up I noticed straight away something isn't right as my game looks NOTHING like the screenshots and videos I've seen. Horrible jaggies on the mountains on the horizon (they almost look like 2d low res pictures just placed in the background, something you would see on Ps1 and ps2 but not this day and age)
I was that shocked at how poor the graphics was I just kinda went "f**k this" and turned it off and got back to playing EVE. After looking on here a lot of people have said that the graphics are fine and that it is your monitor and what not. Which can be the case for some people but I have a 32" LCD screen which has been playing 360, ps3 and my PC games fine for about 4 years. So it's either the game or my ps3. And my Ps3 is fine.
Should I re-install? It mainly seems that the resolution is mega poor and a lot of textures missing :s

These are the pic's, and as far as data it's a HD TV, settings are 1080i on ps3. Everything else is fine TV movies, even Dust before update.
Soo ya I'm either screwed or some genius out there knows the solution |

Could be the 1080i. Have you tried 720p? The i could be your culprit as most everyone else (myself included) are loving the new graphics. |

Wow, that was both impressive and amazing. Graphics are smooth no jagged lines or squares.
THANK YOU!

I'm having the same issue. The thing is though my PS3 goes into 720p by default when I load up DUST 514. So I have no idea what to do for me :(
Sad times as i can see me enjoying this game. But it just looks terrible at the moment haha. |

All these LED TVs you guys are talking about aren't. they're LCD screens. Not that it matters in the context of this thread, but well, it bothers me |

1080i is a terrible resolution. It's actually two 1920x540 screens interlaced together. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that because the PS3 doesn't run games at native 1080p, it upscales them, that with 1080i, you're getting what basically amounts to an SD feed interlaced and upscaled.
If you aren't already, use an HDMI cable, and switch to 720p. 720p is much better than 1080i.

Except, no one called the other LCDs "fluorescents". Oh the horror of just being wrong. They aren't LED TVs, they are LCDs with an LED back light system. |
