I understand the concern of Dust 514 Tank drivers. You spend A LOT of Sp and ISK creating a character suitable for tank driving and then have to spend a lot of money on the tanks themselves. Then , you get on the battlefield to slowly moves towards an objective while dodging Forge gun fire, swarm missiles,Turret fire and other tank fire. And when you finally get near an area, you get killed by what IT SEEMS, one or two AV grenades....
The problem is not AV grenades are THAT powerful (They are strong yeah, but not OP), sometimes a tanker gets spammed by AV grenades and doesn't even notice until its too late (say, near an enemy supply Depo?).The Problem is tanks are slightly Under powered.
What they need to do, is increase the Tanks Base health by 1.35 -1.5 and give them an increase of PG. OR instead of A HP increase , a slight but noticeable SPEED increase could work.(maybe both, increased HP for ARMOR TANKS say : 150% , and Speed increase for Shielding tanks)
I seriously think that with this, a good tank driver will have a good run in this game.
I play a lot as AV infantry and I've found that it takes 4-5 AV grenades to take out a MILITIA TANK. This means a Fully armored tank will never go fast, not to mention a good tanker will kill me as soon as im in sight.
AV grenades HAVE to be powerful because they are the only weapon capable of scaring off a tank Close range.
The forge gun works , but this means you are running a Heavy Dropsuits, which means you i'll have to say hello to the tank,in order to take the shot and thereby ,die. The swarm launchers are almost useless at CQC, i have to be in direct sight of the tank, wait for the lock on, shoot and pray all missiles hit instead of hitting walls etc,etc. This is if i don't get shot in the back while trying to hit the tank or shot by he tank itself.
Av Grenades are fast , effective way of dealing with tanks Close quarters and NO; A single infantry unit with 3 grenades cannot kill your tank....(Unless they are packed Proto nades)
Lastly , Tankers need to understand how to measure situations. You cannot go alone with you tanks storming an objective swarmed by enemy units. There is a high chance that 3-4 of them have AV grenades, and yes you will die. Just because you spend a LOT of money and ISK on something does not gives you the right to be INVINCIBLE.
Trying to nerf the AV grenades because they work is the equivalent of a player complaining because he spent a lot of SP on his Proto suit and his Duvolle assault rifle and he still gets killed by remote explosives or an assault rifle >..>
On another note , Dropships need a SERIOUS increase of total HP. Proximity mines need a buff since it needs like 6 of them to kill something XD |

Hacked EX-0 need to go. Train grenadier 3 like the rest of us AV nerds. Selling these without skill requirements is a bad idea. As for nerfing AV nades in general, I agree with OP. Just be lucky we can't carry AV *and* flux together without a squad. Oh hey, I just got an idea for a new suit! |

Im talking about regular grenades with skill tree. Not the hacked ones. (aren't the hacked ones AUR only? like with merc packs and like that?) |

i wud guess that the hacked av grenades are a teaser. to get ppl to skill into av. when they go off the market ppl will skill in to adv grenade cause they will know how potent the packed av grenades are. |

Also remember AV grenades ONLY work for that. Is the less flexible weapon OF ALL. If you take the damage vs vehicles away from them , what else do they have left?

the hacked nades were supposed to register with an aur price ..it is a known bug that ccp intends to fix and as for grenades...yawns don't get close tankers...there is a reason our guns out range everything cept swarms and forge there is a very good reason av has such range because tanks arnt supposed to be that up close in personal at least none we have atm |

They were made for escaping LAV's, but out damages a PROTO breach Forge at basic lvl? needs nerfing. Cut the damage in half, and they're fine. |
