Ok, well I made a post a while back about the game controls needing to be significantly more adjustable. The following is a copy/paste of that and then I will speak of general issues.
Quote:I myself am an Xbox player. I have always disliked the PS 1, 2, and 3 controllers, and have always preferred an Xbox controller. Since we are forced to use a PS3 controller for this game, can we have a way to customize our button layouts? Using R1-L1 to shoot and aim is extremely uncomfortable. I have installed trigger extensions of my PS3 controller so that I can use R2-L2 as the ADS and fire buttons. This style of layout would allow people who are used to an Xbox game to easily transition over to the PS3.
It would also be nice to be able to customize each and every button on the controller, but I would be satisfied with the ability to switch the roles of the R1-L1 and R2-L2.
Now then, with the general issues. Can we please get someone on the dust team that actually knows about firearms? As a firearms instructor, I find it embarrassing to see the things that are mislabeled in this game. We have been asking for CCP to change every mention of the word "clip" to the proper word "magazine" since the day the beta started, yet they refuse to do it. How hard is it to change a little bit of text?
Secondly, as an 8 year eve player, I find that the information in this game is not shared in an intuitive manner. When I saw people complaining about the bonuses to logi or assault suits, I was completely confused. Where are these bonuses even listed? Well after a bit of digging, I found that the bonuses are listed not on the dropsuit (as they should be), but on the skill for the dropsuits. Where in eve is there a ship without the bonus written in the description? Why would you put the bonus on the skill when in the future this will severely limit the expandability of the class? I feel as if so many things are being drastically overlooked in order to rush this game out to market.
Overall, I have had much hope for this game. I have played through almost every single build, and each time I see more and more bugs instead of fixes. I have also noticed that basic things are just ignored in favor of trying to working on super advanced new graphics or weapons.
My message to CCP is a simple one. Please fix the simple things before adding new content. A small game that works perfectly is much better than a large game that runs like junk.
