So it seems that CCP has made two skills that are essentially the same thing. Both have to do with accuracy of you gun.
I think that Sharpshooter in previous builds was a bit of a misnomer. It should have always had something to do with accuracy and not actual range, and maybe operation should have been range.
Now with that being said,I've heard (haven't extensively tested it yet) that the sharpshooter skill now makes a tighter cone for your bullets. That leads me to believe that assuming that you have operation at lvl 5,and no skill in sharpshooter, then what you will have is bullet spread. This was one of the main issues that drove people away from MAG.I think that dispersion and kick, while there is a subtle difference,is pretty much a redundant skill and something that needs to be readjusted.
I for one had no issues with the "sharpshooter" skill from previous builds, but if they gave us a range skill back that wasn't as drastic as before,I think most people would be fine with that. |

I'd like the think that it is supposed to provide a tighter firing zone but as I'm sure everyone has noticed, hipfiring is completely useless now and even with that skill at level V I still can't precisely hit something whilst hipfiring. It feels like when you shoot from the hip your bullets fly outta the end of the barrel and just take 90 degree angles to everywhere BUT your reticle.
All of this is also assuming that the skill applies to both ADS firing and hipfiring. |

Its just aiming being wonky. When the enemy is standing still, I felt a huge difference moving from sharpshooter I to sharpshooter III. |

Ok,so it has more to do with hip firing than shooting ADS. |

Now that I think about it, I remember when I first started this build my reticle was spread out all crazy like and now with it at V my reticle is quite compact.
Now if only your shots hit where your reticle was. |

AR Operation = Reduces kick. Kick is what's affecting your ADS. ADS is normally perfectly accurate, the only thing that reduces that accuracy is constant fire and not being able to control the kick.
AR Sharpshooter = Reduces spread Spread is what you have when you hip fire. |

I just notice this recently..
Hipfiring is useless now, and only works if you shooting at someone at point blank in the face... But it seems to be fine if you aim trough the sights. The difference is HUGE. |

You will live and die by hipfire. Looking forward to the new lag being resolved, and aiming back on track. It's better but not there yet. We are all playing patty cake 1x1 until a teammate shows up to ADS a biznatch.
Edit: I'm getting a lot of kill assists 1x1 because snipers are finishing the job. Finally a use for those mountain goats. Lol |

It also has a little to do with the fact that we don't have any idea what the Kick and Dispersion value is to begin with, let alone if spending the 3X SP to snag a 5% reduction to it is worth it vs some other skills that might be more vital. But you really aren't given the option to bypass the KICK anymore if you want a duvolle and weapon specific damage bonuses or ammo.
This allows CCP to change it at will without even telling us.
Whoops edit (forgot to mention this): Are the values even different across weapon levels, ie does the exile have the same Kick & Dispersion values as the Duvolle; burst, tactical, breach...etc.? |

That's an interesting question, and something that probably needs to be fully explained.
I think that since we have all just grown accustomed to it,we just write it off and taking it as a steppingstone to get to other skills that we need.
