Assuming optional, but who knows might be easier for CCP to just blanket respec.

Don't be so sure its "confirmed" yet. It simply says refund so maybe what we're all looking at is that the skill points that they have made changes to you will get refunded for. Maybe not a full respec. |

I sent an e-mail to support asking how they were planning to work the vehicle skill changes. A GM Rhino confirmed that there will be an optional respec when the skills are remade. The e-mail included this link: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=75594&find=unread
If you read through it, it states that some skills are being lowered to be closer in Skill Points cost to the skills in Chromosome. Direct quote from Support: "Once the 'Skill' update has been deployed., as mentioned in the Forum Post linked below, you will be able to petition us requesting for the optional re-spec to be applied to your character/account."
When asked about if it will be a "You have two weeks to decide for a respec. After that, it is gone." or a one time token to be used when you wish, it was an "unable to provide anymore information."
There's an option respec coming. I would assume that if a Skill is made cheaper, you would keep your same level but be reimbursed a certain amount of Skill Points. IE, if a X2 skill was reduced to X1 and you have spent 310,920 points getting it to level 4, you would be reimbursed 155,460 points and your skill level would stay at level 4.

Besides the free UVT and 6 man squads, CCP butchered the game. SP re-spec would be wise to alleviate growing pains with the new build. |
