Just wanted to bring this to some people's attention.

Hi,
Thank you for the feedback. I believe what you're experiencing is the side effect of an optimization we did in Uprising.
The optimization is about only simulating the characters within certain distance around your local player, which is a very common technique for games that have large maps. The view distance is partially tied to the weapon the player is using since for instance players using an assault rifle don't need to see as far as snipers.
I'll talk to the relevant devs about this. In the meantime, can you guys provide a list of weapons that are most annoying? QUOTE

This is an an important point - there's an element of unfairness here that needs to be addressed. Tough problem tho because we don't want to throw away the optimizations.
Maybe some kind of non-animated model same color as the enemy dropsuit. I guess in-game this would be some kind of simple HUD icon, so long as we were looking in the right direction and had line-of-site. Maybe if we zoomed in with our weapon the character model would resolve.
Just ideas. Problem needs an answer tho. |

If you have experienced this issue please go to the link in the op and place what weapon you used and if possible the weapon the enemy used. We need the full scope of the issue brought to there attention. |

The red arrow tells you what direction you are getting shot at from. So into cover that is between you and the direction the red arrow is pointing to. Problem solved. |

Again another game design failure by CCP.
Said it before and I'll say it again. It's like this game has been cobbled together by people that have read about what an FPS is, but have never actually played one. |

So your answer is to run. What about when the red arrow is hacking an objective or about to, or you are not close enough to cover? You need to be able to see what is trying to kill you so you can judge how to handel it. With how red chevrons do not show up as much as they used to it could be that someone is walking right at you from in front and they can get close enough to one shot you with a shotgun or just kill you before you can react, if they where rendered you would of been able to react or at least had a better chance. |

If they are out of range how about showing the chevron when you look at and/or detect them. Not much work to render but it does allow people to do spotting (assuming you can get stats by hovering over the chevron).
This reminds me... it would be nice to be able to NOT have to see full health stats at all times when sniping. With a group of folks in a cluster all with chevrons and double shield/armor bars it can get harder then hell to figure out where to aim with all the visual "noise" happening.
While I don't expect it... you could perform a fade-out on health bars whenever you had any overlap or even appearing within so many pixels of each other (in the aiming zone of a weapon).
Minor "playability" issues -- but certainly not priorities. |

Personally I rather have the old build back, this was never a issue. Graphics are the least of my concerns and all it seems to have done is cause a giant mess of issues. Gameplay>Graphics ccp not the other way around. |

You obviously have not been sniping at the edge of your range. You can not see chevrons unless someone else sees them so you can not spot very effectively. Often when you do see the chevrons often they are definitely within your range as other enemies at the same distance are visible right next to the invisible person or the visible people that are shootable are even feather out. Also the invisible people do not show any stats and your dot never turns red so you have to guess where they are at and often the chevron seems to teleport so you know the chevron is not very accurate. Also often your squad becomes invisible. |

Thank you OP.
My range may not be able to target a sniper, but I will switch over to my sidearm and pop a few off in his direction for other teammates to take notice. That was last build. Now we all die to pixelated enemies that are unidentifiable as players until they get within 10m. This feels like a Halo BETA for N64.

I am getting shot by invisible un rendered player models people/ and my weapon range is crap on every weapon I use which is crazy frustrating when I see someone I could previously kill.
This does not merit competitive play nor enjoyable gun play mechanics. |

Halo reach had this on forge world, but you would need to be half way across the map before you lost sight of anything. This optimization is z good thing to have. But ccp made the sight ranges faf too short for these small maps. This is something you would use when we are able to play on the in entire map. |

What CCP did with the invisibility is they gave them that and immortal for the time being. This invisibility crud would be less of a problem if it was just that. |

I think you are right on the range issue.
People should not be invisible the instant you can't pick them off with a shot. Maybe they could go for 1.5 times range or something. You can see movement then prepare or plan or whatever it is you might want to do ... and then go do something about those damned reds. |
