please bare with me, my mind when into overdrive so this may or may not make sense.
at the moment in EvE i belive you can place a bounty on just about anyone for what ever you feel like and thats an awesome system because you just punish anyone for what ever reason and it gives a nice little bounty hunting job in EvE too.
however this cant translate into DUST because well we are matched based and we die like 100 times as par and course of what we do. HOWEVER in order to do anything in DUST you need a corp soloing is fine but it normally leads to sharp and quick end in what ever match your in and with PC incoming i had an idea.
Any bounty placed on DUST player goes onto a corp total that can then be reclaimed in PC.
so for example an imperfects member is being a roaly doush and im like screw that guy, i place a 100 mill bounty on his head. When ZionTCD goes into PC view suddenly all of Imperfects areas are marked in big red colors and secondly upon looking winning any match vs imperfects wins them 100 mill bounty or even in defeat they get a matched cut of bounty for the damage caused.
so even in defeat going after a marked target is worth it. The added bounse of this is when free bears suddenly finds half his areas have attacks on them in finds out that say Rangums latest trolling bout is the cause. I feel this adds a nice dynamic to PC inter corp relations and nice big juicy reason to attack even if odds are not in your favor.

Honestly, I like your idea, but I think the idea works out better in a contract system rather than a bounty system. Don't like a corp? Start a public contract for other corps to attack it. Pay out $100 million isk on top of whatever that corp can make attacking. Better yet, start a private contract with another known corp you know could do the job well. They'd get paid win or lose, so you'll want to choose someone you know could win. And dust corps would want to take contracts they know they could win to maximize profits.
In Eve, the bounty system works as concept because players can pour millions or even billions of isk onto ONE ship. Therefore losing that one ship can set a player back weeks, maybe even months. Really ruining his day. But in Dust, everything we have is relatively inexpensive. A single death or loss amounts to very little. Eve players don't like dying, Dust players get all their money from BATTLES. Even with PC, there isn't that one destroyable isk sink that would benefit from avoiding battles. Which is why I don't see a bounty system being viably implemented in Dust anywhere in the near future.

The core idea of the bounty system is hit a dust player where it hurts them. in PC one of your bases gets offline hits a huge hit, and if you got to keep fighting it gets worse and worse, so while one death is fine, having to fight 10-30 battles over corse of however long it takes to clear off bounty WILL sting. as a result if your involved in PC you do not want either A people in your corp being stuiped and getting bounted by an EvE player B having your corp at the wrong end of someones disagreement you suddenly become an attractive target for PC raids.
The other thing i thought about was a CONCORD OS strikes, you just get randomly bombed in each match till the bounty is cleared off or players get an ISK reward of they use theirs on a player instant battles. sure it does not affect you much but after like 4th strike your gunna get pretty pissed off :P |

I think an easy way to implement a bounty system is if you put a bounty on someone's head, anyone on the opposing team sees a bright orange/whatever chevron over their head. That means that whoever kills that person gets the bounty. The person who sets the bounty has to set how much and for how many kills the money is paid. For instance, if the setter sets the bounty to 500,000 and 5 times, the next 5 people to kill him get the bounty. |
