Dear CCP or whatever CPM member or player reads this.
I play BF3 occasionally. And while my rage towards that game can be as intense as the fury of a thousand suns, it does have a few things that provide for very interesting gameplay... when enough players are on to make a decent game anyway.
Anywho, one of those things are the environments. The buildings that players can take refuge in are, more often than not, destructible. Are they shooting out a window? You can blow the entire wall out and take them out that way. Is a building that the enemy keeps taking hold in making it difficult for you to effectively take the objective? Then simply wire a good few C4 to the building and take the entire building down.
This makes for a very interesting set of tactics for the players. I would like to request this in Dust 514 also, especially in the maps that have complexes with a few select openings to get into the complex itself, which makes it difficult to gain access. If we were able to blow holes in the wall, this would add immensely to the gameplay.

i remember the bf3 beta.
i hated it i kept getting killed across the map by some1 with a pistol..
any ways im not sure what to say about your idea if we could blow away the enemies cover that means they can blow away our cover.
this sounds like it would favor snipers since most of them camp ontop of high mountains.
and most of my time with bf3 wasnt great i think i had 2 epic kill moments in that beta 1st was when i spawn killed the entire enemy team second was when i actually pwned... until i ran out of ammo.. after that i got a few knife kills in the rest of the time it was just me getting killed by a pistol across that large map...
although blowing away enemy cover sounds fun when when your the 1 blowing it up but if they do the same thing to you its not going to be pretty.... |

Unreal Engine 3 (read DUST514) supports fracture: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LELs3rRPe9Y www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLaxPKCeLaY UDK is a free version of Unreal Engine you can make games with. It lacks C++ source code and has some limitations on final product sales.
When CCP gets more experienced with PlayStation and Unreal developement i hope we can see more of this... |

It is a nice feature but you realize that this is a small team. What you want will triple the amount of art assets necessary for everything that can be blown up. Right now they use the standard video game solution (cheat) of dissolving players and their assets but anything in the map is indestructible. The Bad Company devs talked about the tripling of the art assets as each item has to have both whole and destroyed solutions. Then depending on how much destruction you want each level needs additional assets.
Now that we are on UnReal 4 let us get back to the core functionality. We have the new graphics, new map detail and a new skill tree (which I hate). Adding significant overhead for very little benefit is something that can happen when the enormous amount of AUR purchases enable additional staff.

You can't even go inside buildings in this game yet, and depending on how the server handles the extra "stuff" can cause server lag, besides we don't have enough fire power to give environmental destruction its wow-factor. When we have all the air craft and mobile crafts then we can destroy the world. |

UE4 is not compatible with PS3 and will never be http://www.computerandvideogames.com/398618/no-unreal-engine-4-support-for-wii-u-ps3-or-xbox-360-says-rein/ I hope DUST will make it to PS4 and UE4
Let's buy AUR then if we want to see some diamond DUST514 |

Let CCP fix this horribly broken game first. Then they can add nice visuals like environmental destruction. |

Guess you, Kal and all insisting CCP focus on stabilising the core of the game first are right All those bells and whistles can wait CCP, just say you take this fracture thing into account...
