As a Dusty just playing EVE, I say why not use the SP system EVE uses? SP gained by training in real time? I know as it stands, the only reason to play DUST is to grind for that SP, but its that sense of chore and grind if we want to stay competative that makes this game dull.
I log on because I want to get my SP for the week. It should be I log on to have fun and play the game. I think if CCP stops worrying about the SP we accumulate and try to come up with an effective system, they turn to the one that has proven to work for EVE and focus on gameplay and PC or PVE.
Imagine this if you will...
You log on, and discover quite pleasantly that your Amarr Medium Dropsuit has finished leveling to 5. Great! Set the que for Amarr Assault Dropsuit lvl 1 and then leave it at that. Go play some matches with some buddies to earn that ISK or some PC to maintain control of your system. Not in the mood for all that? Then hop on and play some PVE (when its implemented).
The picture I painted above just feels so much less stressful for everyone and without the SP grind to get in the way, CCP can focus on gameplay which will only improve the idea as a whole. |

Or get rid of the SP/level system all together and make a fun FPS instead.
If EvE players will not play a fun FPS without a sp/level system then they can go back to playing EvE....let the people who like fun FPS games play Dust. |

How? Then people wouldn't even need to work for those Forge Guns that can take you down in one or two shots. |

After playing the 14 day EvE trial i had to get shock therapy to get the nightmares to go away.

I actually agree with hooc on this one. I mean, it's never going to happen, but Dust from the start shouldn't have been a skill leveling game in the first place.
From a philosophical perspective, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want it to be a non-leveling game. If there is no SP or levels, then (assuming the game is properly balanced) it's based completely on player skill and teamwork. The person/team that actually performs the best should win just about every time. |

A skill system gives you a sense of progression. This is more than an FPS we just dont realize it cuz the skill system sucks |
