What if instead of predetermined movement speeds, our gear determines what speed we move at? Almost everything would have it's own weight, suits, weapons, equipment. This could also lead to multiple variations of the same gear, some would have more HP/do more damage, others would weigh less, and so on |

But they can be worked out.
Wouldn't mind seeing this implemented as it would add another layer to putting suits together. |

Well, take the HMG for example. With our movement speed decreasing more for using an HMG instead of an AR, it would give it a valid reason for doing more damage than an AR, then all these people who bring up our recent price cut can shut up.
We'd also have to remember that lore says heavies have strength enhancing servos, so obviously an AR would slow down a heavy less than it would an assault or a scout.
I mean, yeah, it would get pretty complicated, but I also think it could add a lot of depth to the game. |

This is basically in game if you think about it. The suits cause the most reduction of speed. And armor already slows it down.
I don't know how the rest would work I mean shields slowing you down would get the caldaris nickers in a twist and logis would **** bricks if their awesome slot layout hurt even more.
Idk maybe it could work. |

As or shields, they probably wouldn't add too much weight, if any at all, the same goes for most other modules. Armor plates would obviously need to tweaked though.
