While I'm very happy to have the rep tool in my Limbus, I'm finding it pretty much unusable due to it's design. I've spent about 3 hours going into matches with the express purpose of trying it out. I have yet to successfully heal anybody. I'm assuming I have to activate the module, THEN click X (or the left mouse button, in my case) to start the repper...I managed to do that once, but the blues near me were full up, so while I got some pretty yellow rep lightning, I didn't accomplish anything.
It's fundamentally difficult to get an LAV where the rep tool is going to be useful...and with all the AV grenades around, it's risky to stay put for more than a few seconds to actually run the module. As such, it's nearly useless.
I'd much prefer it to autotarget either the nearest damaged blues, or the most damaged blues within range, heal them for a set amount of time, then go on cooldown. With that design, I think it would at least be of situational use, while now it hardly does anything.

Ok, I no longer think it works at all, even as designed...had the module activated, targeting reticule up, making lock-on sounds like a handheld rep tool on a bunch of damaged blues...no rep lightning, no effect. |

Ok, with some help from a corp-mate, finally found out how the controls work. If anyone else stumbles on this thread: -select the module from the radial menu (R2) -hover the targeting box over a player until it locks onto them. -repeat the lockon process up to 5 (we think that's the max) times -activate the module (R1)
You'll then get healing streams to all locked-on players while the module is active. But, if they break LOS, the stream is broken, and you're out of luck until after the module cools down.
I still think it's pretty clunky, but I absolutely see how this can be used to good effect as part of a well-coordinated team. So, I still have a request:
I think it would really help if the lock remained when targets broke LOS, and healing resumed when they came back into LOS. I know that's not how it works with handheld reppers, but LAVs are a different animal. With the handheld, you can relock a second later. With the LLAV, you're waiting 30 seconds (or whatever it is) for cooldown, then it takes at least a few seconds to relock...again, with the sitting duck problem.
There's also a serious problem using the mouse to lock on, but it's more of a bug then suggestion, so will open Bug forum thread for that. |
