It is a small change that I think every dedicated pilot may appreciate.
As many of my fellow pilots moan about, the current dropships are highly slippery, making maneuvers to specific targets a highly daunting task.
I have been in numerous occassions where I am heading straight for a building that appears out of nowhere in my field of vision as I am turning, only to think, SHTAP SHTAP SHTAP SHTAP SHTAP.
There is an unused button slot available in the dropship scheme, and I say, let that button become the brake for the dropship. And the brake should function as a button that serves to force the ship to a gradual stand still in midair. This for me is a much needed skill, especially when I am attempting to land the dropship for extraction purposes, or when I need to stabilize the aim of my front turrent or of my gunners.
Anyone think this much needed function in a dropship would help tons for us dropship pilots? We can't be of much air support when the dropship itself is forcing us be on the constant move. |

You shouldn't need a button to do that for you.
Ah, one actually does if rocksteady aim is what I need, and not hit and run strafing. Or if I am healing a LAVs and HAVs on standstill, or offer close air support close to ground, it is silly to have the ship in ice mode, making it impossible to "sit" statically on the air. That is essentially what I am requesting, static ship positioning (but still being able to aim at any direction). |

You are not getting me. Leveling a dropship at ground level, yawn yawn, easy. Landing it, also cake. What I want is to simply have the option of becoming a "static" floating turret of sorts at my heart's desire (especially when there is no effective AV at the opposition).
It's not like the current flight scheme is goof either. It's a challange, but still fairly doable. But it's lousy to dish out dps against infantry targets, but thankfully, dispatching tanks and LAV's are cake. |

I know the tilt and roll deal. Good enough for tank hunting, but not good enough for hunting infantry because it is still bereft of the precision I demand to aim my front turret or my gunner's turrets. |

I haven't tried it like that I admit (a move I have avoided, given how I lose utter sight of the ground, and I need to know how close I am to the ground, lest I crash ). |

As for aiming front turrets on assualt dropships u can somewhat in third person veiw u got about 90 degrees of up down movement no lateral movement though which I'm fine with but do wish for new cockpit desighn that allows for spacial awarness in first person veiw aswell as turret control like the third person view
THIS also would be great.
I do agree, the up and down movement is good and all, but the cockpit view definately could use a rehash that allows greater information input of one's surroundings (And there's a reason why all HUD's are covered outright by crazed amounts of data). |
