Hi Guys,
first of all i am no native speaker, so please excuse my sometimes odd English.
Apparently since the new build, a lot of newer players (including me self) are getting there a$$ handed by player with superior equipment and (maybe) skill. I understand that " New Eden "is an unforgiving place and that this is part of games idea... Actually every Protosuit I take down with my standard gear makes me laugh diabolically a someone with more with equipment worth more then ten times than mine
Though I feel for all the new guys around and fear that new players might be offended by the often frustrating experience. Also it must get really boring for all the guys around wearing proto suits slaughtering the militia players in public matches
So, I wondered how CCP can make the game more interesting for newbies and Vets alike. The solution I came up is quite simple and might also fit into the lore and meta game of CCP.
To put it simple, milita gear is made for untrained forces guarding some facility in the backlawn of a war zone. On the other hand Protogear is obviously made for black ops mercenary to strike fear into the hearts of there enemies.
What would be closer then actually reflect these aspects in the public matches. For example a platoon of lets say 24 mercs limited to militia and standard gear ( most likely newbies) defend a map. The only objective for tis platoon is to kill all clones of the attacker.
The attacker which are not limited to any suit (though most likely the will use the best gear ) have the order to hack a number of objectives or destroy some installation, kill a certain number of defenders etc.
On the risk reward bases this can easily be reflected by a much higher payment for the attacker and a lower payment for the defenders. This could be also implemented in the Mercenary contracts. Also this will add to immersion, as new mercs have to proof themself on guard duty, while Vets will carrying out commando action deep behind enemy lines
Hopefully, this gave Newbies some chance, as the have to work together to defend something, and even learn some team work. As well give a new challenging game mode for all the veterans out there which are tired of slaughtering poor little milita suits in public matches.
Now let the discussion begin.....
