Ok, so pretend im a new player and you're trying to convince me to play with you. i'm decent at most other shooters, (1.04 kd in bo2, 2.56 in bf3, 1.48 in uncharted, 4.91 in mag) but lately iv been getting crushed. i've asked what skills i ned to doo well, and i've been told to get caldari med frame 5, assault rifle 5, assault rifle pro 5, scrambler pistol 5, shield xtenders 5,armor rep + plates 5, nanocircuitry1, grenades 2, and plasma cannon 5. then i find out it takes longer to get that playing allthe time than it did to get everything diamond and mastr prestige in bo2.
Explain to me why i should play thiswhen it will take 8 months to get good at the game?
oh, and if you can, try to get me to buy a merc pack or aurum. |

This is an RPG.
compare the situation you describing me with World of Warcraft (or anny other similar RPG)
what do I need to be a good healer to fight top level PVP with my friends?
well you need a LOT of things to grinds max lvl (85? i left Wow so long ago..)
then full epic gear etc..
Dust is similar in this matter that it is somthing that you invest time into and grinds slowly what you want to become good at.
for exemple.
on the ground I use about 1/5 of the grenades fitted on my suits because I simply not a grenade guy and i forget that I have one.
So i put SP into stuff that I actually use or that I am doing good with.
step one: relax. YES it is impossible to catch up with the best players that caped the max SP every single weeks since the open beta.
step to: put some lvl 1 and 2 in stuff you use and you will start to see a difference in your effectiveness using this stuff.
step three: HAVE FUN. killing a proto suit in a gangbang with 3 millitia suit (you and 2 friends) is really fun.
I find fair that older player that invested a LOT of time into the game get a noticable advantage over new players.
otherwise why would you play the game if not to get to where top players are right now in a few months ?
TL:DR=>>> play the game and you will get there. THIS is why you should play.
there is no TOP LEVEL when you have "finished" the game.
Dust is never "everything diamond and mastr prestige"
it's FOREVER <3 |

2 Months in im competitive. This build you dont need skills to 5 to be competitive, sure it gives you and edge but Im just sitting here on my Standard Frame Suit with and ADV weapon and some ADV gear.
Oh and for a primary I use the Laser Rifle.....half the time I dont know if the thing is on. |
