I love knifing in COD. it's the only fun I every had in that game. Here on Dust I could not get in to it last build, but after what I saw yesterday I just might.
I run a Proto Minmatar Assault with 4 shield ext. and this guy OSK me twice with his NK. Not only this, but he did the same to the heavy in my squad as well. Now once we got a hold on him he was paper thin which makes me think he had stacked dmg modes, but wow man I do have to take my hat off to your work. Well done being a master of your craft. Wish I cold remember the name. Started with an "I" |

I can pull the NK in a cqc fight and reliably win (if I don't have 3 other guys shooting me)
Strafe sprinting helps a lot with knives.
Still no charge and sprint. |

I here u mate.
After reading the diary of a nova knifer thread/blog. I decided to switch a 4mil sp alt all into novel knifes.
It's so much more fun than regular game play. But very hard to go positive.
Your right they are paper thin but even with shield mods my minmatar ADV scout is still made of glass. |

i've still never been knifed before, *whoo*. it feels good to say that, i came close last night to dying to one though, had help keeping him off me.

I saw him too. He was like a Jack Rabbit jumping up and down swinging his knives. My jaw dropped in amazement. Kudos to him. He's even more brazen then the guys with shotguns who shoot you in the back. At least he was face to face. |

gah! they are the bane of heavies in confined spaces, by the time you realise what they are doing, you're dead.
what on earth diid CCP do to the KN's? never had a problem with them till this build |

They finally gave 'em a real use...it's takes enough skill to get close enough as it is, so imo if you let a knifer come close enough to kill you it's your own fault for A) not paying attention to the radar or B) trying to solo a team game. |

Nobody bothered because you couldn't OHK anyone no matter how fast and stealthy you were. There are some videos on YouTube of Chromosome era knifers sneaking up behind heavies, attacking with a fully charged blade and then following up with 1 or 2 regular strikes only to still get killed by a single burst of HMG fire.
Stealth is much more viable in Uprising (too bad all the passive scanning skills appear to be borked) and they can finally OHK heavies when properly fit. |

I'm doing more experiments later today, but preliminary tests that I did last night show some interesting results. Me and my brother noticed something odd with the end-of-match Total Damage Dealt in relation to the number of kills I made with the knives. If my hunch is correct, the base damage from the knife of 150 (plus double strike = 300HP) with the ZN-28 may be from just the instant attack without the charge. Again more testing is needed. But if I'm correct, the knife could potentially be the most powerful close quarter weapon in the game. |

if u saw a nova knifer jumping and slashing, that was probably me since i tend to do that to jump to get behind them then kill before they turn. btw sprint charge is not truly neccesary since you can just jump foward while charging them before you unleash the charged attacks |

Thankfully I never really have to worry about getting killed by 'em since I run Shotgun, but it is a crazy thing when they do manage to OHK you out of nowhere. |

I remember recently camping an objective while I was hidden behind cover using my active scanner to look for any incoming hackers. I was able to properly decide which angle to attack from and successfully killed four mercs back to back in this fashion. |
