Issues that should be addressed if this game is to be competitive with other AAA shooters. (terrain stopping you and lag spike/frame rate hiccups)
FPS players are a competitive lot. We like to test ourselves against the best there is. Like any elite warrior, we need our weapons to perform at the level we do. Dust514 is not ready for elite players. Internet spaceships is serious business, and being a dust bunny is too.
But far to often, we die for stupid reasons beyond our control. Run behind cover and find yourself stuck on a corner or the crack of a hill. When you stop moving against good players, you die. I don't understand how this issue still persists. Hills are death traps and running into a corner at a 20 degree angle results in a full stop.
And then there is the framerate drops. Those of you who only use AR's probable don't have a problem with it. It really becomes an issue only in cqc, especially with a shotgun. I find my game lagging all the time when I get into a frantic fire fight in cqc with my shotgun. And since every shot counts with that thing when you're a scout (you miss, you die), the game lagging is unforgivable. It's really bad on certain maps.
I thought Uprising was going to fix at least one of these issues. Didn't they brag about cleaning up the code so the game ran smoother? It doesn't feel smoother. maybe it's just my playstation...
These are my pet peeves, issues imho that are keeping this game from truly being AAA. I think balancing is not as big of a deal. As a gamer, I find what works and try to use it to my best advantage. We balance ourselves. (my poor MD!)
What issues do you think hold this game back from shining? |

I haven't had framerate drops but I agree 100% about the 'sticky' terrain. IT KILLS ME! Quite literally also. Nothing more stupid than get stuck in small bump, especially in the middle of the firefight.

Getting stuck in terrain and crates and corners is my main complaint.
I thought someone was lagging or using a [redacted] as they were jumping around so much it looked like teleporting, but maybe there is a frame rate drop in CQC, I'll have to investigate further. |

Yeah, I feel like I'm running through a dense jungle; you don't know when a branch is going to snag you and suddenly you can't move.
Lag and frame rate I haven't been negatively affected by (yet), but definitely those little terrain issues. I've been getting used to it, though. I reckon a week or so and I'll know where to avoid. |

you'll only really notice the framerate problem when you're in a intense cqc fight involving more than just 1v1. Adrenalin is high so you should notice any hiccups at that point. |
