It's called a DMR and I desperately want one. The TAR is garbage for this role as the range is terribad, just like the regular AR.
Either: Double the range of the TAR and lower it's rate of fire (a lot).
Or: Cut the range of the sniper rifle by half, give it iron sights and lower the damage by half. Keep rate of fire with a mag size of 7-12. |

Unless they made a completely different and specialized sniper rifle, I don't see this happening. Just because of the sniper rifle dmg alone. Now a version with longer range than other weapons, but maybe 75-85 dmg per shot, I can see something like that and it would have to either have a red dot scope or iron sights, to make it useful and in line with current CQC style weapons. |

meh, if AR's can have a sniper version of itself, don't see the problem with snipers having a CR version of itself.
don't think anyone wants a super awesome close range weapon, just something better specialized for ground sniping |
