Dear CCP,
Thank you for the 6 man squads, this is great and enjoyable.
Now that we have Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest, please remove squads from Instant Battle so proto squads of 6 players who each have 10m SP or more don't stomp new players out of the game. If a proto guy wants to go pub stomp, let them run the risk of joining alone.
Sincerely, Max |

Maybe limit squad size in pub matches. But there really isn't enough going on other than pub matches right now. |

Agreed, IB shouldn't even have squads. Just one big team vs another playing pickup. |

Dear CCP,
As Maximus Stryker points out, no-one wants Newbies to learn about squads and how to enjoy this game - they should be relegated to nothing but lonely sheep for the Vets to come in and tend to as they please.

Waaaah proto stomping. Seriously.... learn to strafe... I whent 23-1 in a militia minmitar with knives.... on an alt with 500k sp. Proto means nothing, learn to aim, strafe, and sneak attack. Dont engage more than you can handle. |

It sounds like someone needs to learn how to either a) Network with other players in order to be part of an effective squad or b) Participate in a corporation that can get you involved in one of their squads. |

they are working on a new matchmaking system for just this. According to ccp way new players will get stomped by proto gear or anything at all is if they are in a squad with higher sp people. If the are by themselves its the lifetime WP that puts you in certain matches |

id rather play a no proto or adv gear match and a milita gear only match now that would be perfect for newbies...
of course a restrications on what can be taken into a battle would be better than this...
and higher sp ppl rnt neccessarily better.
they normally have better gear equiped |

I think a better matchmaker system would be a better idea to make things more competitive. Perhaps something that would match up teams based upon skill points so that they are no more than maybe 1 million sp difference between the two teams. This would mean that if your in a all pro team with a lot of experianced members you will go against players of similar experience level. Or at the very least it will limit how many newbs are in any given team. Outright banning people that have good gear from certain instances is foolish. What if they have a few bad games and need to earn some isk to buy the nice suits they lost? |

Instant Battle Academy
CCP Nullarbor wrote:On Tuesday 14th of May we will be enabling a special instant battle queue for new players called the Instant Battle Academy. Entry to these battles will be limited by total war points earned per character and will prevent older players from joining. New players will not be presented with the existing instant battle queues however they can join a squad with veteran players and be pulled into other battles. Faction warfare and planetary conquest battles will also still be available to new players.
This is a first step at improving the new player experience. We are also working on a vastly improved matchmaking system which is designed to better separate players based on their actual skill level instead of just isolating new players. We will hopefully be rolling that out in an expansion later this year.
You may notice I have not mentioned the exact criteria for being a new player and I am very interested in hearing how many skill points, war points, battles or any other metric you would use to determine what constitutes a "newbie". Remember the goal is to give new players enough time to understand the game not necessarily become proficient at it. So if you have any thoughts on that please reply here.
