In eve, you start the game in a very tightly controlled area of high security space. if anyone so much as farts in your direction, they're blasted to pieces by NPCs. Sure you "can" kill new players, but why would you even bother? you gain nothing, and most eve players just want there to be more eve players, not turn them away day one
in dust, you're thrown in a pot with prototype users and people with 12 million sp and expected to "adapt or die"
in eve, you transition from the newbie areas to proper high sec, with things to do like faction warfare and missioning. you will probably join a carebear corp and do boring things for a while. but it's boring and doesn't pay very where. what else is there? that's when you start looking at your map and see some space with yellow and orange security levels. "what's over there?" you may ask "lowsec? where i can be killed away from stations and gates? hmm.....but i can make so much money out there! is it worth it?"

in eve, you've been hanging around lowsec for a while. you lost some ships, but you learned from the experience, you take things slowly. you're eventually recruited by a nullsec corp which borders the lowsec you've been roaming. You're already somewhat experienced in the art of avoiding the gank and ganking others, and you've heard tales of the boundless riches and massive wars that await nullsec pilots, but also the drama and griefing and other such stuff. you decide to go for it anyway

ANYONE ELSE SEE A PROBLEM HERE Very much agreed. Hoping this is helped a little bit after the release on the 14.
* Also hoping they get rid of squads for instant battle!!! * We all wanted larger squads when all we had was instant battle...now that we have Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest, 6 man squads is GREAT. |

I think that you need to wait for PvE to come out. It will help those who don't want to PvP 100% |

PvE will help, i agree but I still feel we need a better way to not stomp on new players
