De-synchronizing (desync) - your client stops updating actions of yourself or others, but the server keeps track of events continuing to happen.
Dust now desyncs. You can desync from another player, and no longer have your client update their actions.
Example: Last night, my entire squad desynced from a couple guys in an LAV. The LAV just sat there, firing its gun (presumably whenever the guy pulled the trigger) and the people in it switched seats here and there (presumably when they actually switched seats). We shot the hell out of them, did no damage, received no damage from their gun. We walked away, muttering about "what the hell" and I got ran over by an invisible LAV, the one that was no longer updating to us client-side. The server knew it was there, but none of us had any way of knowing, because our clients all said it was about 100m away just sitting there parked.
Another example you may be familiar with: Ever play Diablo or, more recently, Path of Exile, and you go running through a room and go past a few dozen mobs, and "wtf I'm taking damage and nothing is hitting me and oh god teleported back a few rooms where I'm surrounded by enemies getting totally wrecked"? That's desync. In that instance your client stops updating YOU. In dust, your client stops updating OTHER PLAYERS. Same thing, different problem target.
This should not exist. Please fix it ASAP. |

Like insanely fast. This happens quite more often than it should. And when it does, more times than not, you get booted back to MQ. |

Hi,
Have you found any pattern when this happens? Such as game modes, maps, etc.
Also, which country are you in? |

I read about a guy the other day who flew a dropship, and one of his squad mates couldn't see his DS even though it was right next to him. Well, the same thing happened to me last night. I can't 100% remember the map, but I believe it was Skim Junction? (the one with the massive railgun-esque thing pointing straight into the sky by B)
I was flying my Python and Jakob Evhin (one of my corp mates. Not sure I got the last name spelling) spawned at our rear base on the D side. He was standing in the road just to the south of the CRU and we pulled up next to him and he couldn't see us. We were firing missiles at him and whatnot, and just gave up and went and killed some tanks. |

I haven't actually played enough in the new build to notice any pattern with it. I've heard squad mates complaining about it, but that was the one instance where I knew for a fact it was happening to me. Hard to know that an infantry guy is invisible if there's others shooting you, but getting run over by an invisible LAV is pretty hard to miss.
This one happened on Line Harvest in Ambush OMS I believe.
I'm in west coast US, and I think the entire squad that couldn't see the LAV during that game was all over in US. |
