I am seriously stumped here on how to even begin progressing with this game.
I started playing a few days before this new build and had a slight grasp on what I was doing but now I am totally clueless. I have something like 800k of the skill points but not the slightest clue what I should be doing with them.
I'd wanted to play as a sniper prior to the new release but people always jump around so much simply lining up shots was almost entirely luck. I'd planned on changing to the support/healing role but apparently now equipping yourself for that takes a massive investment that isn't plausible for new players. I tried playing with the default assault setup after the new release and had slightly more success but I still have no clue what to do from now on since a lot of the info I've found seems to apply to previous builds. |

There are several ways to go, but here is one suggestion.
Train Assault Riffle because it will be a viable weapon down the road when you play logi, and because you donGÇÖt often run out of ammo with an AR so you donGÇÖt need to carry a Nano Hive. This means you can carry a Ninite Injector and be a Frontline Medic. That is half a logi.
Find the skills that give you +5% to Max Shields and +5% to Max Armour and train those. You might have to train some prerequisites to get access to them. This will help your survivability.
Stick with the Starter suits for now, but duplicate them and add weapons/modules/equipment as you gain access to them. If you canGÇÖt fit something that you want to use, figure out what skills will free up some CPU or Power Grid depending on what you need.
Since you used to play Sniper you might want to try the Tactical Assault Riffle once you get the skills to use it.
Continue playing a Frontline medic until you have the Skill points to go full logi.
Edit: Also join a player run Corporation to get advice and guidance.
DUST University and BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades are both training Corporations that will help you out and will wish you well if you choose to join another Corporation later. We expect many of our members to GÇ£graduateGÇ¥ if they donGÇÖt decide to stick around and become instructors. |

Can also consider getting an armor repair tool and running it instead of injectors. This way you can start healing folks and getting that timing and mechanic down. But full logis can get a little upset if you steal the heal WPs on their heavy they are paired with. Really though, I welcome the aid and especially if you take on healing a lot of the other blues in militia gear or double up on the heavy proto with added plates who takes forever to heal up again.
AR is good all around weapon. Sniping can be fun in Uprising if you have patience to wait for someone to run through your reticle or build the skill to anticipate run path. The talent to snipe is very different this go making it a more dedicated endeavor it seems. |
