Essentially, while our launch is on the 14th, we are not going to be doing a full marketing push on the game until further down the line. We believe in taking a more grassroots approach to marketing our games rather than a full on marketing blitz.
Instead of pushing back the date like they should they're going to hide behind no advertisements so the new flood of people won't know it's out so they won't see how bad it is.

I'm just in WOW right now. This was a pretty bad statement. I'm starting to get worried about the future of the game. I hope the devs are worried about their jobs. They need to get their backs against the wall and realize they have a few months here to fix this or the gaming community is going to move on.
The stuff for 6 months to a year from now needs to go on the shelf. They need to fix the now. Fix the stuff that pisses us off. Fix the small stuff that is making people leave the game. Tell the dude that balances weapons to take a few months off and everybody else get back to work.
I'm not angry, I'm concerned.

I applaud their business acumen. I know you guys are personally unhappy for whatever reason relating to the game. Marketing pushes are very expensive typically. Any marketing/advertising pro will go on an on about how you need to get more eyes and ears on your product... and they will be happy to make a lot of money showing you the way.
They have nothing but time right now. Eve is so successful for them, all they need to do is sit back and perfect dust and let the interaction between the two bring more and more players to it. It's been working so far. And it's free :)
Besides, why go all out on a marketing blitz when you haven't made your squeaky wheels happy yet. It would be money better spent once they feel like they have 100% of the content in. This is the difference between a game that is apart of a yearly cycle and a game they plan to dev over the next decade along side eve. It's a new business paradigm I am sure will be successful, but you can't hold it to the metric franchises that pump out part 3 of such and such game are held.
