Since Uprising, I've seen MD rounds explode plenty close to targets and not deliver damage. Yes, I am taking into consideration the reduced splash radius.
There exists some but where the round will appear to explode, but not deliver any dame to anything around it. This happens only occasionally. |

This is above and beyond the pre-Uprising bug where mass driver rounds would fail to detonate on some surfaces.

I redid ALL my SP on the Mass Driver to get back to where I was and it WASN'T WORTH my time. What a WASTE! |

At first I thought they just overdid the nerf, but after further testing I realized it's just broke.
I've seen the smoke from an explosion engulf my target and they take no damage. Even with reduced blast radius it should have hit.
The smoke trail does not go to the point of impact. It's particularly bad when fighting on level surfaces. I think it's because a slight difference from perceived angle makes more difference on a vertical surface than in you're on higher ground.
Flight time of the shot is longer than that of the smoke trail. This is significant since mass drivers require leading a target. If you lead and the smoke trail hits at their feet, then the explosion happens .5 -1 second later 5 meters away from where the smoke hit, then you can't hurt anything because the blast radius for a fully upgraded Freedom MD is only about 5 m and the splash damage on a Boundless MD is about as effective as tickling them to death.
Your only hope is that they laugh so hard at your attempts that they **** themselves and you can melee them as they try to keep the urine off their gaming chair. |

I've noticed this sync issue as well, especially with long range shots. Smoke trail will go to one spot, but the explosion happens at some significant distance away.
I'm unsure if this is the same bug or related to the issue where everything looks right, but the detonation fails to apply any damage. |

I thought I was just hallucinating but yea, out of the many countless times my driver dint appear to do ****, one time this guy was standing in the corner and hit him with 3 freedom mass shots dead on and nothing. WTF??! hope they fix this as I put WAYYYYYY TO MANY sp into a now useless weapon. |

I have tried to explain the cause for this multiple times, so I'll do it again:
The arc of the smoke trail does not match the arc of the actual shell. The shell itself (which is an invisible object) travels farther and faster than the smoke trail does. You can observe this in two ways:
1) Stand on top of a building and fire down in two separate spots. You will notice that (a) the shell explodes before the smoke trail reaches the ground (by a good .5-1 second) and (b) that the shell's explosion is not at all where the smoke trail ends up making contact with the ground (if you're on top of a single-level building its separated by about 5-10 meters.
2) Stand under a building and try to fire a shell JUST passed the roof. Once you get it done right, you'll notice that the shell won't hit the wall...but the smoke arc will. This shows that the shell is moving at a different angle than the smoke.
The issue is serious and needs to be fixed, since it is a very *obvious* bug. Mass Driver users, whether they are aware of it or not, must use the smoke trail of their previously-fired shot in order to accurately judge where the next shell will land. As such, the accuracy of the weapon will *always* be off if the shell and the smoke trail operate on different arcs. |
