With the corresponding csv file a day before uprising, and the announcement that post-patch prices would be used in the ISK reimbursement, players including myself figured out that HAV turrets would double in price and therefore it would be possible to double their ISK by buying them up just before Uprising was released.
Players have most certainly done this in the past and most certainly will do this in the future, anything you give players information wise will be dissected completely and any exploit based on that information will be disseminated and used. (although I do not think this is an exploit in the strict sense)
Data dumps are extremely useful for feedback, but they are highly exploitable by the playerbase. It might be a good idea to preform some changes in the future covertly for a time, especially if they include price changes. |

Its obvious you are not an EVE player.
Nice, I think the point with OPs post is that this shouldnt happen again. |

This is bad for the game overall and it should be changed that is why I am making this post. That being said i will continue to exploit such shortcomings to the fullest as long as they do not break the EULA. |

I had over 312mil ISK when I logged in. Didn't do what you said. If I did however... I'd have a lot of ISK. |

no this does not happen in eve. making smart investments based on market trends and upcoming changes are one thing, but spending all your isk on NPC items that will be refunded at a higher value after a change is completely different.
the point of the refund was so that you wouldnt have wasted isk on mods that have changed in value, not to profit from buying up cheaper mods that would in turn refund a ton more isk.
im not upset about this, just the stupid i hear from boba's fetta. there was no 'chance' you would make huge amounts, it was a guarantee after looking at the data dump. |
