never seen anyone suggest pistols are OP, yet they appear nerfed.
in the last build I used to enjoy the scrambler pistol, putting 300K SP in to extra clip size. It was cool, because while close range combat is risky, it took some skill to get an aimed headshot for a high bonus. All pistol shots used to get a close range bonus, either in aimed or hip fire mode, with good takedowns if you were quick enough to switch to it. I could take down most enemies in half to two thirds of a 10 round clip.
I find the pistol useless in this build, even an assault with 10% armour would not die from it on close range hip shots. Even a tactical rifle at point blank range is better. Any other pistol fans not happy? I just wasted 300K SP to get the extra bullets, expecting an identical pistol set up. Either the pistol is nerfed, or slower aiming is reducing its impact. I have gone back to using the SMG, but feel cheated on using 300K SP on the now useless pistol. |

Hit detection is a little off.. I found that I can take a Forge gun and stick into into a face of a Proto Heavy and he will only get splash damage. |

Scrambler pistol doesn't need to over power an hmg or an ar. It needs to STAY nerfed.

Damage =/= DPS HMG outgunned a Pistol in chromosome, but this is a little too far in my grand opinion. |

I haven't enough experience with it yet to render a full impression, however it's important to keep in mind that the Macro HP vs dps ratio has shifted in Uprising. HP is a bit stronger vs dps than it was in Chromo, so no weapon should be killing as rapidly at this point as it was pre-patch.
Cheers, Cross
ps ~ all the above is a statement of the Macro, that is to as an assessment of trends no the experiences or ability of a few select players. |

You never saw any of the probably dozen "Scramblers OP" threads?
They were hilarious. Surprised anyone took them this seriously though. |

all weapons are weaker because weapony does not increase increase damage anymore. those extra 15% of damage multiplied on a headshot, thats why he might feel that it is weaker. |

Obviously the range pullback puts the Scramblers back to their short range intention, so no more surprising people at mid range with a couple of well placed headshots. On top of that the sketchy aiming most people are feeling will hurt a gun that requires accuracy, and then you can roll the across the board damage nerf into them not killing as fast too.
They'll probably be back when damage falloff is implemented, but it's not hard to see why they're not what they used to be.
(Also, they closed the Carthum Assault loophole so no more proto pistol for advanced requirements. RIP.) |

If you're talking about the headshot bonus, it's still there. Hit detection and hit box latency have been "fixed" so it takes more effort to get used to it. Actually, I'm wondering if hit detection and aiming is in fact broken, or if we need to readjust to compensate. Several of my corp mates had problems starting out, but after a few days, they've reported that nothing has changed at all. Me personally, I haven't really noticed a change outside of sometimes noticeable latency between input and what's happening on screen. It could be a server problem. |

@Cosgar, aiming is definitely broken.
Back to the scrambler issue. I play with someone that uses two of them as his only weapons. So it is not as bad as the OP suggested. It does take time to get used to the changes.
I suspect the range Nerf that everything got is what is causing the problems. Every round disappears at their max distance currently. Before it seemed like a round might continue on but that is a guess. That and the broken aim mechanic is enough to question most players regarding the completely different functionality of their favorite weapons. |
