Keep getting the same error for this download. Anyone know where i can download it on the computer and place it on my PS from there. This is kinda ridiculous that i STILL cannot download it after a good 6 hours of attempts. |

Which error, exactly?
You only said you kept getting the error.
PS3 only allows software updates of their own firmware to be downloaded in the fashion you describe. Other options allow hacking. |

I really wish there was a way to do this as well. Considering that the update is probably signed, it wouldn't really pose a security threat. Btw, the error I keep getting is 80701723, but can't speak for OP. Have tried over 10 times, and it always gets partway through the download before erroring. |

If you are using wireless try a friends LAN connection.
PS3 wireless hardware seems to be derp from everything i've seen. Couldn't even download the last major update for over a week until I had ADSL2+ reinstalled, constant errors as you describe.
Wireless seems ok for playing, but patching? Nah. |

I'm on lan, unfortunately. And i've never had any issues in the past, though I suppose this patch is bigger than patches for most games. And downloads work different from patches... |

I'm also having the 80701723 error message show up. The main issue is that it starts from the very beginning every time it has an error. I wonder where that 80% that made it to my PS3 before error disappeared to. I know this is more of a Sony side issue but couldn't CCP release multiple smaller updates for us players who are having issues. I've tried hooking it up directly as well but that wasn't the problem. |
