Well I for one am enjoying uprising thus far. I've spec'ed into the Amarr Assault Medium Frame suit CA-1 or C-1 or whatever it is (the one under proto pretty much). The new SP node based system is nice even if it took awhile to get used to (I liked the spreadsheet feel of EVE skilling).
The new dropsuits look AMAZING (well Amarr at least)...seriously though, they look nice. Gallente assault looks like a buffed up scout, Amarr is nice and diamond encrusted and shiny as it should be, Caldari looks sinister, and Minmatar looks industrial and almost steam punk-ish.
As for the weapons, so far I'm using the Laser Rifle (gotta stay true to Amarr) and honestly I'm not really feeling the nerf. I'm using the ELM-7 or E7LM or whatever the hell it is and it still cuts through players like butter. Something else I've picked up on and LOVE is the fact that once you start damaging armor, there is a distinct sound; no longer do I have to glance at their shield/armor bars to see if I'm into their armor yet - I can just listen.
Now the only one small gripe I have is that being true to Amarr I armor tank and I've come to realize that trying to armor tank in DUST is a real b****. You've really only got two options...
1) Stack armor reps
or
2) Stack armor plates
The reps just don't restore armor quick enough to be an effective tank and armor plates make you slow as balls. With armor plates on the Amarr Assault suit, I swear I feel like a medium frame heavy instead of an assault. The positive out of this though is that it'll force me to think outside of the box - it becomes a bore if everything just "works," so I'll have to experiment until I find what works for me tank wise. Another positive is being armor tanked allows for me to stack damage mods in the high slots and who doesn't want to hit harder?
P.S.
The Minmatar medium frame Logi suit looks like all it needs are forklift forks |

I was there with you early today lass. And you are pretty good with that laser. I chose to go with standard, rather then play my style with scout. But I wanted to test the waters first. I know you were using lasers, but controls didn't feel heavy to you? I've played kill zone so I'm use to it, but I can see it's gonna take others some getting use to. |

Yes, the controls felt extremely heavy actually. It felt like I was trying to brandish a 200 foot pole around instead of whipping my laser back and forth effortlessly as in the previous build. At first I thought it was just my sensitivity being low, but even after I upped it it was still pretty bad and only a fraction better. |
