You won't see any new people CCP. They won't stay with this game in it's current iteration.
Reason:
1. It cost me 2 million SP just to be able to use XXXXX Logistics Suit LVL1.
2. New Characters get 500k SP to spend.
3. With a difference of 1.5 Million SP and new players without boosters earning 358k (190k active, 168k Passive) a week, thats 4 weeks for a new person to reach a LVL1 suit.
Extrapolate this microcosm of Skill Points across the skill features (Engineering x5 now) and can you imagine being a new person and stuck in a beginner suit for months...
Seriously CCP... How did this build get released with these types of SP sinks in it? |

Thank you for pointing these out. While not great, they are "something".
The SP sink in this game is still going to drive new people away. If I'm having issues on a character with 3mil SP and I've played this for a year, imagine new people coming in.
The SP grind is VERY comparable to a Korean MMO.
Thoughts?

Actually it will raise the new player retention rate because there will be less KB/M users and heavy suits pubstomping them into submission.
Still a really bad game though, it's doomed until they fix the core gameplay issues. |

This is why people don't really care for most of you CPM folks. Nothing resourceful or useful ever comes out of your mouths. You guys are worse than the player population when it comes to posting useless and pointless remarks in a thread.
Instead you should have encouraged a discussion of the OP or at the very least offered a counter POV. Instead, you trolled the thread like a ********. Just one more reason to show that the CPM should have started off as an election and not an appointment. |

Maybe you need to take a step back and try to see the issue from my point of view for a bit.
1. Research

Well in the short amount of time I had I had to create this tree.
2. Observe
Look for things sticking out and not in place
3. Analyze
Realize that the issue is beyond the suits themselves.
4. Formulate
Come up with a plan that satisfies costumer consumption rates vs available content
5. Present and Debate and hopefully a better solution comes down the pipe.
Bottom Line its more messed up than you'd imagined. |

Why would a new player care about this? They haven't had the better stuff quicker to really be fussed about it. I don't see them caring much, especially since the progression tree in Dust 514 is much deeper than any FPS. They're going to complain that they get more than other games? I don't get it.
It sounds more like the sort of things that a player who played a previous build and was used to getting things quicker would complain about. |

New players will come - see class options - think they have choices - pick one - go into battle - then start asking why they're useless - post on the forums - told HTFU - then wonder if it's legal to falsely advertise your game to say it's sandbox. |
