Okay, now that we've all had the chance to get a better look at them... what's their point? These aren't "unspecialized" suits. The medium suits are nothing but gimped assault suits. The light suits are just scout suits. The only one that's different is the heavy who trades a low slot for a high.
What's the point? Is it just to give newbies something to use while OB testers grind SP so that we can get our racial/class bonuses? Most of which are useless by the way...
Seriously, what's the point of them? They just look like SP sinks.
*disclaimer* this has nothing to do with me accidentally blowing a chunk of my SP on the Minmatar medium earlier, this is an honest question  |

No one? Seriously, I would have no problem if you only needed the basic skill to level 3 before you could specialize and the suits actually had different stats, but about 2 mill SP just to use a STD logi is ridiculous.
Don't want people running around in proto too early? Make it so that you need the basic suit skill at level 5 before you're allowed to use the racial prototype. |

As long as assault suits can function just fine without specializing, most people won't care about this, so we may as well be alone. |

True freakin that. I can go toe to toe with the best of them on even footing, but I just like playing Logi because there's so much more to keep up with, I find it more engaging. Now I'm 700k from being able to fit a suit, with no core skills. Before this patch i was well on my way to T2 armor and shield buffs, I was thriving before this patch as logi.
I really hope they listen to us. |

Tech 1 Suit if they follow eve doctrine
Are generalist bases to which you can have fullfill a multitude of roles without being penalized as much for going astray from its core values as much.
Tech 2 Suits if they follow eve doctrine
Are specifically roled to do something special. Unlike the generalist who can do a bit of everything the specialist cannot AFFORD to do such as its a waste of hull, bonus, slots, and costs.
Unfortunately dust 514 is a bit off on this. |
