CCP what is this logic
at least put in a falloff system...
not "bullets disappear after X metres"
one moment you are damaging enemy -> enemy take a step back -> enemy invincible
wtf is this |

Lore wise, the suit has sufficient time to calculate the incoming projectile to arrange defenses to completely nullify it.
Real world wise Its a complicated server matter that requires additional higher level game design matters to be solved before advancing on the issue further. |

wtf is this The logic is there is no such thing as bullets in Dust 514. Read the weapon description. Also shoot a wall, notice there is no hit marks....

I think Lore wise it's more like most of our guns fire plasma covered projectiles and its the plasma that does the damage. So after a certain distance the plasma has all dissipated. |

Well technically all the plasma-based weaponry (of which the AR and Shotgun are) shoot magnetically-contained bolts of plasma. It is entirely possible for them to "disappear" as the magnetic field breaks down and the plasma then spreads out into a mist.
The HMG, Sniper Rifle, Forge Gun, and SMG rounds should continue until gravity pulls them down. The Sniper Rifle and Forge rounds would of course travel a lot further though, having a much higher velocity.
The laser rifle should have infinite range, but do less and less damage as particles in the atmosphere break up and interrupt the cohesion of the laser beam.
Of course, for game balance reasons, only the plasma-based realty can be implemented, though I think it'd be funny shoot someone with the laser beam from across the map and have it basically be just a laser pointer. |

I think someone at CCP is just lazy
the game at this stage doesn;t even make sense... bullets disappearing for your "RPG" reasons... |

Actually, it's "science" reasons. If the bullets disappeared because the magic that summoned them ran out, that would be "RPG" reasons.
Also, note how I said that only the blaster-tech weapons (Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Plasma Cannon) are the only weapons whose bullets *could* disappear. I didn't say whether they should or shouldn't. |

Gun falloff would probably increase the strain on the networking and delay us the sweet sweet 32 vs 32 action we're all really longing for. |

No, no, PLEASE don't try and come up with lore-based reasons for this. It is ENTIRELY a factor of game mechanics. Blacklight: Retribution used to have a similar system before they implemented falloff, and CCP has mentioned that they're working on falloff. |

Wait what? There IS damage fall off, big time. Outside the optimal range but inside the max range, ARs tickle, and it increases as it gets close to the optimal range. This actually works well when fighting against ARs from outside their range, the tickle lets you know "uh oh they are getting into a range i might have to worry about"
Are you asking for bullet drop instead of just vanishing once it gets outside max range? I mean, thats certainly possible, but you'll hate that a ton more as any bullet between optimal and max range will be lower than where you aimed... |
