 So i use the AR and HMG on my two main characters.
 
 I don't want to waste my SP on them so i am making another character to play around with until they fix the ranges of these weapons or at least make it obvious that they have no plans to fix them.
 
 What weapon do you guys recommend I use?

 Scrambler rifle x3.
 More range than AR, more damage, more clip size, same RPM.
 Its better in every way.
 And don't say "overheat" because it barely rises with the assault variant, which is the auto fire one.

 That way you can switch to your sidearm and be good to go without having to reload.

 i haven't got the update yet, but this is one of the better options.
 people forget that the Militia gear is there for this reason. a SP free way to test the waters.

 Gallente Plasma AR is the short range service rifle.
 Amarr scrambler rifle, Minmatar combat rifle, and Cadari rail rifle will all out range it, once we have them.
 
 Hmg is minmatar weapon, we have amarr heavy with bonus that would help lasers.
 I would guess hmg will be nice with the minmatar heavy suit, and not so great till then on the amarr.
 Amarr heavy suit will probably be nice with the arc cannon when it comes out.

 The problem is that the Plasma AR is supposed to have much higher damage in exchange to the range.
 However from the stats, the scrambler rifle has better damage.

 but if we could see our resistances and damage type it might make sense and it might help to pick a weapon
 
 would be even better to have the weapons for each race released at game release
 
 New weapon types can come later but the basic weapons should all have their variants released
 
 We don't even know how long before they come out
 mabey new weapons will be OP in order to let newberries catch up
