I was just looking through the market to buy some dropsuits and I noticed that the standard and advanced Gallente Assault Dropsuits (G-I and G-1) were unavailable to me so I checked the pre-reqs and it states that it requires:
For the Gallente G-I (Standard level)
Dropsuit Command 1 (Unlocks Med suits at Lvl 1- OK, this makes sense)
Gallente Medium Dropsuits 5 (Description reads, Unlocks access to standard at Lvl1, Adv at Lvl 3, Proto at Lvl5)
Gallente Assault Dropsuit 1 (just stats bonuses)
It would seem that the Gallente Medium Dropsuit description of the skill is off or the pre-reqs for the suits got messed up.
For the Gallente G-1 (advanced level)

Gallente Medium Dropsuits 5 (Description reads, Unlocks access to standard at Lvl1, Adv at Lvl 3, Proto at Lvl5)

Now there is a pattern here and did something get mixed up as the Assault Dropsuit skill seems to be incrementing at the level that the other skill (Medium Dropsuit) has for a description.
Some clarification would be appreciated. If this is indeed an error (and the skill descriptions are correct) getting the word out will save a lot of rage from people that spend SPs to get Gallente Medium Dropsuits to Lvl 5 and then it gets corrected to only needing Level 3 (which I THINK was the intention). |

afaik the assault / logi / so on are Tech 2
so you need medium frame V for any tier of them, for the correct race,
then the lvl applies again
lvl 1 medium - standard medium
lvl 3 medium - advanced medium
lvl 5 medium - proto medium
lvl1 assault, lvl 5 medium - standard assault
lvl 3 assault lvl 5 medium - advanced assault
lvl 5 assault, lvl 5 medium - proto assault |

Ah-ha, so you can only use the BASIC Medium Frame until you get to Lvl 5 in Galllente Medium Dropsuits?
That could be a bit clearer if that was the intention, didn't even look at the basic frames until you just mentioned this, those don't require the Assault Dropsuit skill at all |

tell me about it. i wasted 685K SP on getting "advanced" suits when i had BASIC proto capability  . the basic costs a bit more, and you don't get the 5% boosters associated with the racial suit, but everything else is the same. oh well, had to make some kind of mistake at some point. |
