So I'm about to connect to the Uprising build for the first time. I see a new patcher and it confuses me quite a bit:
The download indicator shows a download speed of about 650-750 KiB/s, which is fine (that matches my line), but now and then the speed drops to 0 KiB/s for no apparent reason.
What happens there? Is the client waiting for a server Response? Is the client saving/modifying local files? Is it the download dropping for some reason?
What I'd like to see here is some more information regarding "what's going on":
Based on what happens when the speed intentionally drops to 0 KiB/s, that status display should say so.
For example, right now the line reads:
Quote:Updating game Client (1.23%) - 650.0 KiB/s
Then suddenly:
Quote:Updating game Client (1.23%) - 0.0 KiB/s
But instead it should say something like...
Quote:Updating game Client (1.23%) - Patching...
or...
Quote:Updating game Client (1.23%) - Initializing download...
TL;DR: If the download speed dropping to 0 KiB/s from time to time is intentional, please explain it rather than showing "no bits moving", so we actually know everything is fine with the connection and it's just the client (or server) being busy.
EDIT:
One more thing that's even more weird:
Total progress? At first it showed up as 1 GB to download, then at around 30 or 40% progress reset to 0% while estimating around 600 MB total. Now it reset again and shows 370 MB total. That's really, really confusing. |

Yep, yet the progress bar doesn't make any sense, as it jumps and never reaches 100% till it's realy done. |
