judging from all the posts about the nerfs on the heavies, will heavies even be a viable choice once uprising arrives? If CCP keeps nerfing the heavies to the point where they aren't heavies anymore but more like moving practice targets, then why bother leaving the heavies in the game??
Im play as a heavy, and reading all these posts about the nerfs and such, it makes me feel like its pretty pointless to even play as a heavy once the new build arrives
the range nerf and the dmg nerf will pretty much render the heavy useless, if we aren't getting taken down by AR's or lasers from a distance we're getting nerfed liked crazy, now we have to cover that gap by either sprinting our fat ass towards an AR user while taking a lot of damage in order to get into range of our hmg with our reduced dmg or just chicken out and hide behind cover.
After careful consideration, i think i'll just spec back to being a logi, the heavies aren't tough enough to handle all these nerfs and not to mention the fact that the heavies received no love from CCP for the new build. no new suits with the usual SOON for the heavy dropsuits, heavy users that want the new suits will have to wait god knows how long while playing in some militia suit till the new heavies arrive along with hardly any new improvements made to the heavy suits.
so my question to CCP is why keep the heavies around if you are going to keep nerfing them to the point that no one wants to play as a heavy? |

Rate of fire on mini guns stays the same which is much higher than anything else so you are still flinging a wall of bullets at anything in front of you
Forge guns are getting tweaked for the better
Youve still got much more armor than any other class
And use a friggin vehicle if you dont want to run around and better yet grab a logi bro have him drive you around and stick to your back healing you
TF2 players figured that basic combo out a long long time ago and just because you are no long a walking death turret to everything remotely in your sight doesnt mean you are useless |

Yes they are I able simply because they are the same price as an assault now and harder to kill close range. |

I like how there is a tread for almost every aspect of the game getting nerfed. I've got news for everyone, if you nerf everything it isn't a nerf as the entire landscape of balance changes. These "nerfs" are no longer so under the new context of balance |

Chibi Andy. If you play public matches and other public modes next build then you should be fine when playing with the Heavy class. If you have plans to participate in planetary conquest then you will probably experience great frustration when you try to use your favorite class. The limitations and flaws of the Heavy class are always magnified when you go up against better competition and that was before the HMGGÇÖs loss of range and power. If youGÇÖre mostly a Forge Gun user than you will be fine next build and donGÇÖt have to worry about it. Heavy will be cheaper to use, so you can make money easier next build and you get slightly more armor next build. The problem with Heavy is that HMGGÇÖs are relying on a lot on hit detection next build. If the spotty hit detection is fixed then Heavies might be able to make an impact because the HMG will be more accurate at close range and utilize the HMGGÇÖs rpm better. |
