I was in my tank, my frame rate dropped to unplayable levels, let my friend pilot it, and left battle since I was completely useless to my team at that point and there was a chance some1 more useful could take my place.
My friend hid somewhere safe and when the battle was over, my tank was not returned to my assets. |

Because you were not in it. It may have been because you were not in battle.
The difference is unclear as to how that works personally. The only vehicles I have lost had been reduced to a pile of rubble first so I had little expectation of them being in my inventory. With Uprising a vehicle will be able to be recalled.
You might ask your friend is they happen to have that vehicle in inventory? They should. |

if you go out of the battle your vehicle is lost, but if you wait the end of the match and the vehicle you called is in safe, even if the enemy stole it, you will have your vehicle.
Same happened to me, i was thrown out of the battle and i've lost my tank. |

Correct, although I didn't realize that the enemy could keep it safe. That seems odd as I thought you could steal them for good. Maybe that is coming for Uprising with the removing vehicles solution.
If I am lagging even a little I move to the outside of the battle. Hopefully the lagging will reduce if you are not in the middle of the map and the middle of the battle.
Which doesn't always help though. Then I try to get into a Turret near the ground spawn or it has been suggested to just MCC camp then restart DUST after the battle has ended.
One should always know what type of lag you are dealing with. When the frame rate is really slow and you look like you are watching a slide show it is probably memory leaks and is normally caused by having DUST running for several hours without restarting. How many hours probably depends on how busy your battles are and how often you are stumbling across an item that is related to the memory leak.
The other type of lag can be escaped from. This is when you are moving and you keep going going forward only to be moved backwards. They can happen so much that it is impossible to make progress in any direction. What you need to do in this condition is to Leave Squad, not quit the game. Select the Chats, choose Squad, hit X and choose Leave Squad. If you can play fine now one of your Squad Mates is actually having the lag. You are just receiving the negative effects because your clients are trying to resolve different versions of where you are.
Hope this helps. |

Dust needs to not count such incidences a loss of an asset. People could get disconnected and have their stuff survive the match and still lose it. For it to count it as a loss doesn't make sense. |

Dust is part of the eve universe. It's unforgiving. It makes sense for me to go somewhere and drop something then leave that when I come back that it's not there. Wether I left because I intended to or not I'm the one who risked the item by dropping it.
Just saying. |

OK, you are talking here about the situation when you left the battle, but did you ever encounter this problem when you stay to the end, your vehicle survived, and yet it will disappear from the assets?? It seems to me that this happened to me. |
