With the heavies getting a pretty brutal nerf on Monday, tomorrow is the last chance us heavies have to dominate in this build. I have created a channel in-game named "Heavies". If you play as a heavy and like playing with other heavies, go join it!
With that being said, tomorrow starting at 2000 GMT (4pm EST US), I would like as many heavies as possible to squad up and smash anyone who gets in your way. Ideally squads should have 3 heavies and 1 Logi to maximize effectiveness.
If this is something you'd be interested in participating in, join the chat channel and/or reply here. There are a lot of heavies I'd like to get the chance to play with and talk to, so hopefully we get a decent turnout.

I keep hearing a "heavy nerf," but I think you have confused the Amarr Heavy Dropsuit with the Heavy Machine Gun. you may criticize me for being a grammar ****, but as it turns out, the difference is pretty significant, you see, the heavy dropsuit is NOT constricted to using just the HMG, so you can still efficiently use a different weapon. |

So, it's pretty brutal eh?
Are you just guessing it is, or have you seen the actual numbers? because while they may have dropped the HMG's damage a bit (probably not much) and range (which was kinda necessary anyway), they also buffed the actual heavy suits HP, and are making armor mods that don't hurt your speed as much.
Sooooo, on the contrary, I'd say heavies will be just fine. sounds like CCP just traded a bit of offense for a bit of defense, which seems like a fair trade to me. you wanna run and gun and pwn face, play assault. You wanna be the tank and pull all the aggro and have massive survivability? play a heavy, or tanker.
simple principal, it seems to get misconstrewed. Heres the thing, Tankers actually have a little reason to complain. They are putting in a lot more money, and they have an entire plethora of weapons that are crafted specifically to harm them. but even then, fair is fair, as a tank can one shot (or very rapidly dispatch with missiles/blasters) any dropsuit in the game. sooo, whilst tanks are getting a seemingly large nerf... we haven't even played Uprising yet. :) |

We definitely gotta squad up. I don't have Proto stuff since I threw about 2.5 mil SP into Light weapons and Logi stuff to mess around before the respec, but I don't need that kittenpoo. :D
I look forward to recording. It should show how powerful a good squad of heavies + 1 logi can really be. |

HMG without Sharpshooter is bad. The reason people complain about the HMG's range is because most HMG users have stacked SS skill as high as possible. Mine is it Proficiency 3. I understand why that is an issue. I outshoot ARs from decent range most of the time. Now that HMGs don't have Sharpshooter, I don't understand the additional range nerf. Add to that a damage nerf when we already have trouble winning CQC 1v1s Proto v Proto.
The point of this is to enjoy the last day we will be able to dominate in the sense of being attackers. The change is going to turn us into objective/area defenders and will make playing a more aggressive playstyle more difficult. There should be no "set" way of playing a character. If you want to have less HP and more firepower, that should be an option. It should be like that for every suit type. The thing that made me love Dust is that I felt my character was truly my own. Having only one way to go is going to make adapting to situations much more difficult and a lot more boring.
I am trying to stay positive about the update, but I have seen very little from CCP in regards to positive changes to our class. Decrease range. Decrease damage. No Sharpshooter (which will end up being basically a damage buff similar to Weaponry now for ARs and SMGs). No new suits until "soonTM". We did get a little HP buff, but we also lost high slots that would give us additional damage if we chose to use damage mods. |

I really don't care about the nerf. Adapt or die. I haven't gotten my hands on the new build yet, so I don't know exactly how it's going to work. I'm just going by what I see.

Do I have to explain/ Link the definition of Irony.
HMG=
Highest RoF in a Hit -Scan game= abuse of core game mechanics
Biggest Clip = Just LoL
Only Gun that actually gets more accurate overtime = So you rewarded for holding down AR
This adds up into a easymode gun for easymode players.

As opposed to ARs, which have perfect accuracy from the first bullet, do twice the damage per bullet, have the best versatility in close, medium, and long range combat, and have ridiculously quick reload times. As it just so happens, in CQC I find a smaller cone of spread a hindrance, not a reward as you put it.
If you can classify the HMG as easymode, I can classify the AR as "easiesteasymodeofalleasiness." |

AR have increased spread over time
Proto AR has more recoil than any other variant
To master the AR you need to master personal movement, Burst fire, and tracking
Quote: As it just so happens, in CQC I find a smaller cone of spread a hindrance, not a reward as you put it. ^ This is why this argument is official over. Smaller cone of fire a hindrance? Sounds like more of personal aiming problem then a weapon problem. "The spread so low that I actually need to aim at my target" LMFAO. I can't believe guy complained about his weapon being too accurate. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Again.... im almost positive that this build was an overall HUGE HEAVY BUFF, Everyones range is getting reduced (not just the heavies) so it scales down the same as before. only now..... most fights will take place in close quarters, or atleast with people in close proximity of each other which..... you know...... is what heavies like right?? Not to mention that ALL HEAVY SUITS/WEAPONS COST THE SAME AS ASSAULT SUITS/WEAPONS NOW. I also saw some stats that hinted at a "massive" hp buff to heavies...... but you guys hear "damage nerf/range nerf" to a gun that shoots over 1000 rounds per minute and all of a sudden your saying the heavy is broken..... HERES A THOUGHT lets try it out this Monday and see how it roles before we go and make assumptions like this huh???
but yeah guys! have fun with your heavy stomping..... ill be looking forward to grenade spamming all day tomorrow. |

Logi Bro wrote:I keep hearing a "heavy nerf," but I think you have confused the Amarr Heavy Dropsuit with the Heavy Machine Gun. you may criticize me for being a grammar ****, but as it turns out, the difference is pretty significant, you see, the heavy dropsuit is NOT constricted to using just the HMG, so you can still efficiently use a different weapon.
If I didn't want to use a HMG I wouldn't have skilled to heavy. |

60 HP is not "a bit of defense". That's less than 2 bullets. LESS THAN TWO BULLETS. That's approximately .16 seconds. That **** ain't nothing and you know it. |

I don't have a truce with anyone. The truce doesn't even make sense. Whoever came up with that idea is living on a strange island somewhere.
But anyways, the thread kind of got off topic with the trolls doing what they do and making it out to be me complaining instead of me setting up a good time for some of my heavybros. Be sure to join the chat channel so we can set up some squads. Also, tell your corp buds and other friends about it. The bigger, the better. |

I'm not sure of all the flak that seems to be hitting up between the AR and the HMG. Not fully interested. Being new to the heavy scene, I haven't had much issue, and have found the range to be a bit over the top. Only Bane I've had so far has been the Lazer through and though. It's getting a rework so I've got no worries. I play a heavy as it's full intent bringing the aggro to myself, and effectively turning the guns to bare down on me.
Sharpshooter at 3 for the moment has made me see that any more range than that would easily throw this weapon to the Op section in an instant. I've yet to see the numbers on my HMG. Whatever the small nerf I'll be in the know on the 6th. As for Dmg... Unless they nerf it down by an over all 10% I'll still find it more than useful to take down my target where my eyes lay down my mark.
Hopefully the heavies will lay down the power later today. It'll be more than enjoyable no matter what we are looking at Monday. |

Hell, I'm not trolling, I was just asking really. It was relevant, because I saw lots of people talking on the said "truce". Anyways, best of luck for all heavies out there, I'll be there to repair yo asses. :3
