Prereq: System Hacking V
Skill: WiFi Hacking - unlocks the ability to use WiFi Hacking Equipment. STD at lvl 1, ADV at lvl 3, and PRO at lvl 5.
WiFi Hacking Equipment allows you to hack from a distance. Object in question must be visible and must remain targeted for the duration of the hack. More advanced units allow you to hack from further away. WiFi hacking takes 10% longer to hack than normal. |

pfft wifi doesn't exist in space >.>
I actually had alot of ideas for things like hacking drop equipments that would hack a node for you, and stuff like that, but honestly I have trouble picturing an implementation of the equipment that would be an enjoyable addition to the game. |

I think at fanfest they mentioned ideas about hacking nanohives and dropuplinks over to your side and that they had actually already worked a bit on it. SO maybe well get that in a summer expansion. |

I wasn't thinking drop equip like set it and forget it. This would be held equip, more akin to the rep gun. You point and shoot, and the thing hacks. This is just for someone highly trained in hacking to put some distance between himself and the console, so he's easier to cover or harder to find / be sniped / be exploded. |

Not a horrible idea.
-Has a reason to be used. -Has a cost (10% longer hack time)
Not a skill to "Specialize" into but nonetheless, very useful since it seems that we're going to have skirmish for awhile and I have a feeling that the capture (hacking) of objectives for victory isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I'd put it in the Feedback/Requests section of the forums. |

Honestly, I don't think it's a bad idea, but it also doesn't make sense either. Most weapons are never accessible using wireless connections. Especially weapons that you don't want your enemy to remotely hack into. This is why internet is very restricted in army and navy vessels and why their automation is often discouraged.
But then again, you're already hacking the things using some random ass knob thing (or will be after Uprising build lands), so you could probably be able to simply have a hacking module that automatically hacks an objective if you are close enough to it and you activate the module.
By the way, the way you should name it is "Remote Hacking". |

I don't care what you call it, but Remote Hacking sounds like I am hacking the remote explosives and apparently people already got confused about how you "hack" the other team's "equipment".
Reality of internet accessibility aside: hacking cannons, CRU's, supply depots, blaster turrets, enemy vehicles, etc... is already part of the game. Currently you need to walk right up next to it and stare at your wrist for 20 seconds. Especially for cannons, it is very easy for snipers or demolitions experts to get an easy kill on you by predicting your exact location ahead of time.
This would simply allow a player who invested appropriate amounts of SP to stand in different locations and perform this very important duty for his or her team. |

I know Black ops 2 have something similar called "Black hat" that allows the person to hack equipment from a distance, ofcouse with a con like longer hacking time. And maybe combined with the scanner be able to hack throught walls at a even shorter distance or longer hacking time, but it just an idea. |
