If everyone is just going to sit in the sandbox and not play with the sand, but still be rewarded, why even bother making people log in for it? The AFKers obviously don't get excitement out of having to select a match every 15-25 minutes, and those who actually play don't enjoy being abandoned by their teammates, so why not just cut out the middle man and make everything 100% passive?
That way people who don't want to play the game, but want to feel good about their character, they can just sign on a couple times a month, and those who actually want to play can just play with others who feel the same.
I've always been against 100% passive SP, but given the circumstances, I don't really see any other logical direction. |

You hate AFKers that much huh? How about we actually work on a good rewards sytsem instead of just making things easy for CCP?

Well I've just come to realize that a large number of this community, including our CPM, prefer to play this game by not playing it. So, I'm just trying to think of a way for everyone to get along.
In reality, I want that ill gotten SP stripped away, but I get that that won't likely happen.
I don't even know why I made this thread, tired and aggravated. |

Here's a possible solution. How about an SP system with diminishing returns instead?
2000 SP for 500 WP 3000 for 1000 3500 for 1500 And so on, for ambush.
And then skirmish would be
3000 for 500 WP 4500 for 1000 WP 5200 for 1500 WP And so on,
There, problem solved.
We can even add 2 sp for each second in the match

I have been saying passive SP only for months. Everyone said I was stupid and it drives away fps players. I say it removes grind, exploits and cry baby thread of op vets and no-lifers. I would love passive only SP, then loyalty to the game would be rewarded with higher skills and better gear. Now we are rewarded for everything we do, so much so that we only care about how much SP we have. This idea of the SP grind is what will be the death of this game.
Progression through the tiers of weapons, vehicles and other gear is too fast. The problem also is the community, we are trying to make a game that rewards and encourages team play and specialized fits for a player base that is spoon fed zolo kills and rewards every action with a prize. This is not elementary school and we should try to change the mindset from SP the fun or change all SP to passive. |

I've always liked the idea of having Passive SP (just like Eve) and Active SP reward you for what you practiced in the match. Basically, your active SP would be immediately applied to the relevant skills, if you use an AR the whole match, then your AR Operation skill would get increased by X. |

I like the idea of forcing the player to be "in game" not "in MCC" and forcing activity. If you crouch behind a rock in the red you aren't doing anything.
So, percentage of time at risk and active is the percentage of the SP you get. Nothing draconian or overly complex.
I too would like folks AFKing to be penalized for the impact they may have had on newer players. The "pub games don't count" is fairly dismissive of newer people if you ask me. Potentially driving away some new players who have a bad experience due to excessive stomping due to good team members AFKing, or perhaps continually being told that they don't matter, is something CCP and CPM members should think about. |

Why not just copy/past EVE Online's real time system and line our skills up to be learned like a torrent download? Stat whores can farm without even logging in, and the rest of us can play without even having to think about grinding. Boosters can be for learning skills faster.
It should have been this way from the start. |

Just make it WP = SP.
Double and revamp the current WP gains we have atm (ie. 100 WP per kill, 500 WP per hack, 75 triage, etc).
Give WP for non offensive actions and milestones (dropship cru, 300 WP for 5 revives, etc.)
Just like BF3 badges.
Passive SP stays as well.
There's no point in playing and try hard if I don't get rewarded.

I am beginning to warm to the Passive Only side.
The AFKids complain that the Active SP system punishes good players. - vs. - Everyone else complains that WP as the primary driver of SP disqualifies casual players from what was supposed to be a casual-friendly game.
Hmmm...
Cater to the vocal minority of elitists who have a lot of free time? - or - Cater to the (usually) silent majority who have the money to support the game and a willingness to pay for shortcuts?
Seeing how CCP has catered to the vocal nullsec and lowsec minority for years.. ... I expect that their solution will be 10SP per WP with a complete removal of time-based and passive SP.
However, the OP is correct. If CCP is unwilling to banhammer or reset AFK farmers, then Passive SP only is probably the most fair solution. |

With all the broken game mechanics and exploitable exploits going on and the mass AFK middle finger to people that do want to play, I'm at my wits end. I'm actually just considering AFKing myself. This problem should have been fixed weeks ago. But instead, the only weapon we had against AFKers got hotfixed overnight. It's like they want us to AFK or something. |

How about SP based on contribution. So many SP per kill, hack ect. If people who don't contribute to the match make no SP, then they no longer AFK, problem solved.... |

There, now no lifers won't get that far ahead of everyone, and people actually get rewarded for playing.
Edit: Basically you'd be adding 27.2 K passive Sp to each day. |

I like this one. AFKing wouldn't be as easy since passive rewards are very low. Maybe lower them even more.

active sp for just being in battle was stupid to begin with. passie sp would have worked alot better. atleast it should be tied to WP gained in battle fully and not by how long you sit in the mcc afk.
I vote for, SP and isk payout is fully dependent on WP points in battle. |
