1.5 million isk for a light flying LAV that can be 2 shot by a forge gun (which requires zero SP and less than 10k ISK )
is a bit much for a ship that also requires like 10 million SP invested

The core structure of Dust is changing. No more grinding meaningless instants with occasional corp matches to boost rep. The key shift this build seems to be that CCP are highlighting that we're not one man DIY armies any more, and if you want to be The Best you'd better have a corp backing you strategically and financially.
In summary, they're laying the groundwork for us needing collaborative effort to pay for the top-tier stuff. |

Regardless, the idea of 1.5 million for a fast flying gunship that only takes 2 shots from a militia forge is a high price to ask, "Hey 8 people, run a pub and donate ALL the winnings to thecorp, so we can buy one guy a kitteny derpship. Oh why does it cost 1 million more than a standard? It has a turret that can be fired by the pilot." Who in their right mind would follow that? |

That's the problem. I recognize they are moving towards corp funded ventures and away from one man armies. That is good. What's not good is when certain elements are priced incorrectly, and yes it is possible for things in this new system to be priced incorrectly. It's not hard to imagine hypothetical examples of items costing 1000x more than another for little or no extra benefit.
A less extreme but no less obvious case is here with these new drop ships.
Sure pilots would need corp backing high prices. But there is such a thing as too high a price for the benefit gained. Which mean's ... if no player can afford it by themselves, AND no corp would fund the multi-million dollar suicide machines then they simple won't be used. It's a waste of a game asset if nobody ever uses them. |
