Should I go with Scout or Assault Dropsuit in begining? I tried assault but the range of assault rifles are laughable. And I hate the iron sights.
So anyone want to advice good skill plan for Sniper for upcoming reset? |

Love to. No Skill Tree with SP that I can access. If you want one for Chromosome I have a reasonable one for < 1.2M.
For Uprising, it is all guessing. Just play and see what it all looks like on May 6th.
If they dropped an actual Skill Tree with actual SP costs and prerequisites let me know. Other wise the promise of the full Skill Tree by the end of April will have been definitely missed.
If you want the Chromosome variant reply to this and I will post it later today. |

Well I like to have one with current build. I can always migrate to uprising once I get the general idea of whats needed. I just wanted to test it while i am waiting on my alt. |

I would recommend Assault Suit for Sniper.
Scouts survive by not standing still. You have to be still to aim a sniper riffle. When I try to snipe with a Scout suit I generally get 1 shotted by another sniper. An assault suit should let you tank the first round and duck for cover, at least once you get your shield/armour skills up.
Use the starter Assault Sniper fit, and then make a copy of it and modify it as you get enough skills to add more fittings.
Until you have Sniper Riffle Operation at 4 or 5 you will have to crouch (triangle) to avoid riffle sway. Even with no skills, the militia sniper riffle is effective if you are crouching.
Also, check out my The Role of the Sniper post. |

Honestly, I suggest a Logistics suit for Sniper purposes. Being able to carry a Nanohive and a Drop Uplink is great. It sucks getting into a good Sniper position only to be Counter Sniped immediately. With an Uplink, you can spawn and get that jerk how got you. But between Assault and Scout, Assault is better. No contest.
Get level 5 Weaponry, 3 or 4 points into Circuitry/Combat Engineering for the CPU/PG, use Complex Light Damage modifiers. A Militia Sniper with 2 CLD Mods can kill very easily. A Single Body Shot kills Starter Assault Fits and lower level Scout suits, it is three Body Shots for most Heavies, and 1 Headshot will fry nearly anything that isn't a Heavy and not advanced. Don't rush too much into the higher level Sniper Rifles; Militia and Standards will treat you nice. Work on your Support skills like Circuitry, Combat Engineering, Field Mechanics, Shield Control, etc. before getting into anything higher than Standard in my opinion.
Be well.

I've read this a few times now - Logi for sniper - and with uprising i have decided to skill into Logi's to build a sniper that can later on be actually useful on the field as a pure logi (TBC as to how i feel once the sniper angle is fully fitted).
What i dont know is what races logi suit to use, I found something that spelled out which is good for shield tanking, which for armor etc but cant find it again. I would be interested to know peoples views on this and grateful for any links that spell it out for a part timer like me.
right now i have about 2mil SP waiting for dropsuit upgrades (the rest went on sniper rifles, damage modifiers, nanohives and uplinks etc) I slightly upped armor (lev 1) so i could replace militia plates on my early doors skinweave logi build, but lets be fair that is a V basic build that is a holding model until i know what im doing with logis.

there are several types of snipers, the solo sniper and the intel sniper.
the solo sniper is only worried about kills, it tends to learn the maps and find very efficiant sniping positions and doesnt move alot thoughout the game.
the intel sniper tends to move ahead of the squad (scout suit) and give intel on the forces holding a position, then while the squad attacks they provide cover fire to damage enamy forces so that your front line guys can finish them off when they have less health. this also protects the scout as when they are being shot at by your front line guys they are very unlikly to be able to pick you out and gun you down, or sick their team mates after you.
this also means you will always be moving, only staying still for the duration for a firefight and moving every time you no longer have reds in your sight so that you can either continue giving support fire or scout for the next push your squad is going to make.
the scout sniper is a valueble member of the team, the other variety contributes very little to the team in order to pad their own stats. |

haven played an assault sniper now, I'd pick the ammar logi suit if I could pick it all again.
the assault suit is great for being durable as hell, but I miss the equipment slots and higher cpu more then the durability |
